Publisher's summary

She's always longed for more, but what if the path she's chosen requires more than she's willing to give?

Aya, daughter of Zebulun of Tarsus, does not want a traditional life. After years of being overshadowed by her brilliant brother Sha’ul, she wants a chance to use her own gifts beyond being a wife and mother. When her father insists that she marry a Torah student, she reluctantly agrees.

A dedicated scholar, Sha’ul, or Paul, returns to Tarsus to follow the instructions of the Law and wed the woman his father has chosen to raise his profile and help him earn a seat on the Great Sanhedrin—the highest religious court in the land.

But when the Nazarene, Yeshua, and his followers bring trouble to the Holy City, Sha’ul will stop at nothing to silence them.

After moving to Jerusalem with her husband, Aya expects to be bored in her role as wife to a Torah student. Instead, she finds herself fascinated by his studies. Then her brother makes a life-altering decision, and she must face a troubling question: Can she remain true to her beliefs and still love her blasphemous brother?

Rich, deep and delightful

Since I am a singer and worship leader I was intrigued off the bat by a tale of a woman singing for God in ancient Israel. I trust that Angela Hunt did her homework - though my own study of Music history makes me wonder about her descriptions of the Harmony in the womens choir- but that is not important to this powerful story of faith, heartache and salvation through the eyes of the sister of the great Paul the apostle. I loved it!

Inspirational historical novel

I especially was inspired by the use of Old Testament prophecy and fulfillment to ultimately prove the case of Christ as the Messiah for Saul and his family.

Kathy

I really enjoy Angela Hunt's novels.
I usually listen while I am doing busy tasks indoors and outdoors. The storyline always holds my interest. As a Christian I particularly love seeing the scripture come alive in another form while keeping in mind alot of it is speculation as the storyline unfolds. I appreciate the research it must take to put these book together.

The Mystery of the Love of God

The author did a great job of showing God's love for man through the ages. She also portrayed man's love towards God. Through trials and joys. nothing separates us from His love. Though He slay me, yet will I worship Him. For His plans for me are perfect!
