Excellent book. Wendy's voice is soothing.
I finished the book in 3 days. So much biblical wisdom and motivation to break the sugar addiction and get closer to God. I'm excited to continue on the journey.

Great Message/Bothersome Delivery
The message and support this book offers is great, although the author speaks from an un-relatable place of privilege (hence 4 stars). I’ve done the fast twice. I’d like to listen a third time, continuing to refine the fast each time, but I don’t think I can handle the narrator’s voice anymore. The way the words are pronounced is glaringly unnatural, with the D’s clipped and the S’s pronounced in different forms of lisped and SZ sounds. Because she pronounces the same words differently, even within the same sentence, it feels very unnatural and is deeply distracting from the message. I hope the author allows someone else to narrate her next book so the message takes center stage rather the performance-heavy, odd and inconsistent pronunciation of words and sounds.

More than sugar...
I bought this because I recognized that I had a sugar addiction and I wanted to break free from those chains. However, Wendy Speake, kindly, yet persistently guides readers towards examining their hearts to find all the ways we look to other things instead of Jesus. I was challenged, and I was changed. Also, having this book read with the author’s own voice, is important, you hear her passion, you hear her urgency to show the readers a better way. Thank you for this!

Utterly transforming
This fast has been miraculous. It challenged me in ways I was not expecting and opened my eyes to spiritual strongholds that have been in place for decades. God used this book in such a powerful way to bring down those walls and build up safe havens in my life. I am so hungry for The Lord and His Holy Spirit and finding satisfaction in Him moment by moment. My 11-year-old daughter is joining my to do the fast again over the summer. Thank you to Wendy Speake and everyone who made this book.

A God send!
God knows my struggles and sent Wendy my way. It was as if she knew everything about me. However, God only knows the struggles but used His beautiful daughter to minister to me and the multitude. I'm so grateful. Thank you Wendy, praying for you, your family and the ministries.
