Pretty Entertaining

I liked it for the most part. Some parts of the story were a little too obvious, but that was kind of expected.

SPOILER ALERT!

Well, I took a while for the book to get to the point. I could actually hear the narrator swallowing. Didn’t like the unnecessary I can’t explain to you right now parts. The 2 friends served nothing. They hurt more than they helped through out the book and they were just not needed to keep the interest. I usually like Williams books but this one was really slow. Also, when they changed the rules they could have changed more of the rules that were truly inhuman such as slavery or the remaking of heirs or trafficking of heirs to claim for the particular family or faction or making more than one place a safe haven for all factions. We’ll see how fast their population will increase! I hope this book do tie in with the others. We’ll see. Yes I am going to listen to all of them whether I want to or not because I want to rate them fairly. But so far this is my rating. I hope the books improve.

How can this be from the same author as seven realms?

Yes, narrator is not great. He takes long pauses randomly and you can hear him swallow here and there.. but the story lacked too. I never fell in love with any of the characters. The heroes are mediocre and villain are boring. Linda was the most promising character to me but there were a little focus on her. I will not be reading the next installment... there is just no pull or desire. I loved seven realms and listened to it multiple times but this one was just not for me.

Great story Funny Narration

the book is just as good as I remember when I read it 10 plus years ago and I enjoyed it dearly as far as narration the best part is at 33:42 in chapter 15 when something important happens and a plot twist is dropped when you hear a random person who isn't the narrator saying from further away " Whaaaat?" made the whole book that much better

to me the narrator is a bit aggrivating, the book its self is good though

throughout the book there are numerous big audible gulps the narrator makes and on chapter 14 or 15 at the end you can tell they are not alone narrating the book or it just didnt get edited out as someone in the background has a reaction to a turning point in the story. the story is good 10/10 but the narrator could be better with delivery

Background noise

What made the experience of listening to The Warrior Heir the most enjoyable?

The characters were very easy to know and care about.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

The narrator should not swallow so loudly into the microphone, it was very distracting. I also heard someone in the background say "What?" at a surprising reveal.

Any additional comments?

Editors should take more time to filter out or prevent background noise and lessen gaps between patches.

One of my favorite books.

Any additional comments?

This author does not ease you into the story she starts with a bang and ends in a way that you want more. Excellent book, never dull.

Loved the book, love the audiobook

I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook. I had already read The Warrior Heir years ago, so knew I would enjoy it; Robert Ramirez did an excellent job recounting the story. All my potential complaints are nitpicks at best; occasional pauses that seemed too long, making me thing my headphones had unplugged, occasional difficulty differing between the voices of the younger characters. However, as I stated, such problems are nitpicky at best and manifested themselves at few and far between points during the narrative. Overall, wonderful book and a wonderful performance. I'll be listening to the rest of the series, you can be sure of that!

Fantastic story with relatable characters!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would for sure recommend this to a friend male or female, it is an amzing story that keeps you interested and wanting more!

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

The narration was good and I enjoyed the reader, but the other people commenting say that it was a bad reader didn't really give him a chance. In the beginning he does do some weird breaths and mouth noises but that's only the first chapter if that.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Oh for sure, I sit at a desk all day at work and between two days had it finished lol.

Any additional comments?

This book isn't just a teen book or "young adult" which I honestly don't even know what that covers. I'm in my early 20's and I absolutely love it and relate to each of the characters on some level.

Fire this narrator!

Dear god, I've never listened to anyone be more unprepared to read a story. His inability to provide more than 2 different voices, and never give them any emotion is astounding. Listening to his awkward, long pauses between paragraphs as he drinks water, and flips pages is frustrating. As well as hearing the director telling them to cut as they transition chapters. The story is nice though, the writing is decent and the characters, while contrived, are somewhat compelling. Overall, scrap this recording and bring in someone else to do the series. No way I can listen to this guy for all 4 books.
