Publisher's summary

Book two in the blockbuster Maze Runner series that spawned a movie franchise and ushered in a worldwide phenomenon! And don't miss The Fever Code, the highly-anticipated series conclusion that finally reveals the story of how the maze was built!

Thomas was sure that escape from the Maze would mean freedom for him and the Gladers. But WICKED isn't done yet. Phase Two has just begun. The Scorch.
The Gladers have two weeks to cross through the Scorch—the most burned-out section of the world. And WICKED has made sure to adjust the variables and stack the odds against them.
There are others now. Their survival depends on the Gladers' destruction—and they're determined to survive.
Friendships will be tested. Loyalties will be broken. All bets are off.

The Maze Runner and Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials are now major motion pictures featuring the star of MTV's Teen Wolf, Dylan O'Brien; Kaya Scodelario; Aml Ameen; Will Poulter; and Thomas Brodie-Sangster. The third movie, Maze Runner: The Death Cure, will hit screens in 2018.

An epic struggle between friends and foes.

(no spoilers)
If you were left unsatisfied with other titles of similar nature, (ie. divergent series *ahem*) then look no further. This second book in the trilogy will leave you craving for more. adventure and action lay ahead, waiting for the courageous reader who will come by and accompany Thomas and his gladers through trial number 2. drama and suspense are in the air making the atmosphere heavy between friends, while enemies become allies. Don't be fooled by the obstacles you will endure, for wicked is GOOD.
Just read the dang series already! I'll see you readers at book three....

Didn't want to get out of my car...

This book had me riveted. I don't know how many parking lots I sat in for half an hour before going in to the store/bank/etc. because I wanted to listen for just a minute longer. The gladers go through so much in the book. Just when you think there is a pause, something new is thrown at them, and I'd think "oh no...not again!", which I'm sure is how you are supposed to feel...as overwhelmed as Thomas and the boys. Great story, and even though the narration can be a little flat at times, Mark Deakins really does an amazing job bringing the characters alive through dialogue. Loved it!

Scorch my brain -

Any additional comments?

I couldn't get past the endless time in the desert! Ughh. Everyone keeps telling me that it gets better from there, but I couldn't do it.

If you have to stop while reading,

I would not recommend you to start if you have to stop while reading the book because it is impossible and if you stop, your curiosity will keep bugging you until you finally start reading again. Great story and amazing and unexpected ending.

Amazing

I have never listened to a book with so much detail and excitment. This book made me lost in a world of Adventure with Thomas and his friends. I highly recommend this book.

Very Intriguing, nail biter!

This is an awesome book! I usually don't even read, but this series has me hooked! The only frustrating thing is how we only know as much as the characters do.

First Time, Addicted

Recommending this book/series is something I've done and will continue to do. It's filled with action that is described in such a way to make you think you're in The Scorch yourself, suspense that makes it extremely hard to stop reading, and so much emotion! Love the series so far and can't wait to get started on the next book.
