Publisher's summary

Book one in the blockbuster Maze Runner series that spawned a movie franchise and ushered in a worldwide phenomenon! And don’t miss The Fever Code, the highly-anticipated series conclusion that finally reveals the story of how the maze was built! When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his name. He’s surrounded by strangers - boys whose memories are also gone.

Outside the towering stone walls that surround them is a limitless, ever-changing maze. It’s the only way out - and no one’s ever made it through alive. Then a girl arrives. The first girl ever. And the message she delivers is terrifying: Remember. Survive. Run.

The Maze Runner and Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, and Maze Runner: The Death Cure all are now major motion pictures featuring the star of MTV's Teen Wolf, Dylan O’Brien; Kaya Scodelario; Aml Ameen; Will Poulter; and Thomas Brodie-Sangster.

WOW!

I have not read a book in years and all I can say is, "WOW!". I wasn't so sure about it in the beginning, but around chapter 5 I knew then it was going to only get better. Yes it did. I cannot wait to read the other books! I feel sorry for the children having to experience such tragedy. Very sad really and my eyes teared up especially at the end with Thomas over chuck. So not fair. Overall, I cannot believe there is such a book that can keep my interest through to the end. Truly amazing. Thank you for creating such brilliant artwork for the readers of the world. I will definitely spread the word about the books and the creators of them. And to the narrator whom took all that time to do this..thank you greatly. As a single mother my life is so hectic and you made it so easy for me to be able to read the book. I listened to it on the way to work, on the way home from work, and in between whenever possible. You did such a wonderful job in your pronunciation and speaking throughout the entire book. You were awesome! God Bless to all.

Gripping Listening

Having watched the films, I wanted to read the books knowing they would probably be better. And boy is this better!

I was gripped by the storyline and would highly recommend this audiobook.

Great!

What made the experience of listening to The Maze Runner the most enjoyable?

The voices did a great job of covering the emotions and expressions of each character!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Thomas and Teresa because they were the only ones that felt a connection and somewhat understood the point of the maze.

What does Mark Deakins bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The emotions of each character.

interesting!

If you could sum up The Maze Runner in three words, what would they be?

I am hooked! Now I will have to get the other two!! It makes me wonder if this could/ will ever happen??? How bizarre !

What other book might you compare The Maze Runner to and why?

Hunger Games, Divergent, Unwind

Which scene was your favorite?

The end, finding the big room and the people who "rescued" them?! hmmmm?!!!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

no

Great, suspenseful listen

I chose this book because I enjoy the dystopian genre especially when in series, so series like The Hunger Games and Divergent. This book fit right in, complete with a twist ending.

I'm looking forward to listening to the next book in the series.

Great, but a little lacking

If you could sum up The Maze Runner in three words, what would they be?

Fast paced adventure. There is always something new to mess with plans

What other book might you compare The Maze Runner to and why?

Hmmm... Possible the Golden Compass due to humanity's salvation being put on the shoulders of a child

Which scene was your favorite?

Near the beginning, when we first see Thomas in the glade. Despite the situation, the Gladers have managed to create a well functioning society. There's something beautiful about that.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I think they already did...This book is one WICKED ride.

Any additional comments?

The story is great and although I recommend it, there are a few things I'd change (no spoilers here though ;)

Great book

Although it seems youthful, I couldn't stop listening! Slightly predictable but also had some cool surprises and twists at some parts. Can't wait to hear the second book.
