Publisher's summary

Annabeth is terrified. Just when she’s about to be reunited with Percy - after six months of being apart, thanks to Hera - it looks like Camp Jupiter is preparing for war. As Annabeth and her friends Jason, Piper, and Leo fly in on the Argo II, she can’t blame the Roman demigods for thinking the ship is a Greek weapon. With its steaming bronze dragon figurehead, Leo’s fantastical creation doesn’t appear friendly. Annabeth hopes that the sight of their praetor Jason on deck will reassure the Romans that the visitors from Camp Half-Blood are coming in peace.

And that’s only one of her worries. In her pocket, Annabeth carries a gift from her mother that came with an unnerving command: Follow the Mark of Athena. Avenge me. Annabeth already feels weighed down by the prophecy that will send seven demigods on a quest to find - and close - the Doors of Death. What more does Athena want from her?

Annabeth’s biggest fear, though, is that Percy might have changed. What if he’s now attached to Roman ways? Does he still need his old friends? As the daughter of the goddess of war and wisdom, Annabeth knows she was born to be a leader - but never again does she want to be without Seaweed Brain by her side.

Percy Jackson is the eponymous hero of the best-selling Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan. He made his debut in The Lightning Thief at just 12 years old, where he discovered the shocking truth about his parentage: He is a demigod, the son of a mortal woman and the god Poseidon. Beyond his own series, he was one of the protagonists in the Heroes of Olympus series and has since appeared in other spin-off novels and series from Riordan.

Always great!

Always a great read and narration for his books! I have really enjoy all of his books that I have read so far. I love how he still puts and mentions characters from the Percy Jackson series in them as well. it makes them even better!

Really great narration!

The only thing I that was lacking was the story. The fights in the series involving the giants aren’t that good, but nice book overall.

Better than the first two

I’m not a fan of this narration, but that’s just a personal preference. I was really nervous to listen through this Annabeth-centric story because I didn’t like the voice he used for Annabeth in The Lost Hero, but I was pleasantæy surprised! The narrator’s style just isn’t my favorite, but it’s not objectively bad or anything and the writing and story are more than enough to make up for it

A very good book!!!

The Mark of Athena is a good book because the story is packed with adventure and great twists and turns. The way that Joshua Swanson reads it makes it an even better book.

Healing my inner child

Feels so good to be able to re-read stories I grew up with. Being able to better understand underlying themes. Percy Jackson is one of the best series out there.
