I had a life anyone would kill for.

Then someone did.

The worst part of being dead is that there’s nothing left to live for. No more kisses. No more secrets. No more gossip. It’s enough to kill a girl all over again. But I’m about to get something no one else does - an encore performance, thanks to Emma, the long-lost twin sister I never even got to meet.

Now Emma’s desperate to know what happened to me. And the only way to figure it out is to be me - to slip into my old life and piece it all together. But can she laugh at inside jokes with my best friends? Convince my boyfriend she’s the girl he fell in love with? Pretend to be a happy, carefree daughter when she hugs my parents goodnight? And can she keep up the charade, even after she realizes my murderer is watching her every move?

    "Fantastic!"

This book was engaging and I can't wait for the next one. The only reason it may have been difficult to follow is because, the book is written from the dead sisters perspective. Soo There are twins who were separated at birth, one went into foster care, the other one was murdered and is now a ghost. This story will keep you on the edge of your seat and guessing the whole time. Pay attention and you will love it!

This series is really addictive and while I had guessed pretty quickly who the killer was I really wanted to listen to the rest of the series-- hear how it played out-- and confirm my suspicions. This is not at all like the short lived television series.

"Interesting enough for an adult to hear..."
Would you consider the audio edition of The Lying Game to be better than the print version?

I have not read the print version of this book, so I am unsure of the difference.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Cassandra Morris?

Perhaps. Listening to this one sometimes made me feel like I was trapped in a 15 year old's conversation...which was sort of annoying.

    Any additional comments?

The story was interesting. I enjoyed the story enough to really consider listening to the next one. The concept of the Lying Game was certainly different, and there were enough twists and turns to keep it good.

    "Love this series so much!!"
Where does The Lying Game rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I really don't know. I love books so much that I have a hard time telling which I like better.

What other book might you compare The Lying Game to and why?

Hmm, hard one. I would probably compare it to any mystery/chick lit novel out there.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I loved the scene where Emma tells Ethan who she really is, thus making him help her.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Emma realised her only family member is dead. That touched me a lot. The way she felt, really made me sad for her.

    Any additional comments?

I think this book is really awesome. Forget about the TV Show. This is so much better.

    "AAAAAAAAAAAARGH!"

Her voice was grating and distracting - couldn't get into the story. Not that it was easy to track, anyway.

"Beware, there are SIX books on this series"

I bought this book on an Audible sale and that should've been my first clue. I wanted a lighthearted summer read, and this one had good reviews so I decided to give it a try. If you are not expecting a literature masterpiece, you would probably enjoy the book. It is well written, and although some of the situations are very forced (like how Emma found out about the existence of her twin sister), overall the plot is interesting and addictive, in a guilty pleasure king of way. I happily bought the second book, but at the end of that one, the killer wasn't even near to be revealed, and that really annoyed me. So here I am, going through the 3rd book only to find out that there are a total of SIX BOOKS! If this was only one fat book, I would probably would have given it 4 stars, as it did keep me guessing and entertained. As a trilogy I would've given it 3 starts. But 6 books??? I don't think I can stomach that, so I am just going to google who the killer is and be done with it.

    "Tv show to Books"

I started watching the show and was delighted to find out that this was written by Pretty Little Liars author Sara Shepard. I enjoyed the first book and find that it is more interesting than the show. I like the Sutton as a ghost dynamic, watching over Emma's moves. I can't wait to find out who the killer is.

    "Intriguing Characters"
Where does The Lying Game rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

As always Sara Shepard dangles you along to try and solve the mystery. The characters come alive through the excellent narration of Cassandra Morris.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Emma because she has the most to lose. I feel empathy for her losses, would like to see her truly have a family.

What does Cassandra Morris bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

    The personality of the characters.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    yes

not knowing for sure who was friend or foe.

What did you like best about this story?

toss up between emma and sutton as they both played sutton

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

being mistaken for a rich, beautiful girl who has it all is every girl's dream. too bad she was the queen of mean, appears to be dead and i might be next.
