Now that the ley lines around Cabeswater have been woken, nothing for Ronan, Gansey, Blue, and Adam will be the same. Ronan, for one, is falling more and more deeply into his dreams, and his dreams are intruding more and more into waking life. That you can immediately hit play and re-enter a beloved new world, or love story, or era from history is a gift to the devoted listener. But how to pick just 100 of these unique and immersive listening journeys? We defined a series as having a minimum of three books, and—after some debate—we decided the titles had to be anchored in fiction. From YA to horror to historical fiction, from fresh voices to seminal tales, hours of discovery await.

So fantastic, there are no words.

I usually don't leave reviews here, but on Goodreads instead. but these books are so terrific and the audio version adds to the experience so much. the narrator is absolutely wonderful. I listened to this book as I read it because there are so many gems, I didn't want to miss anything. The literature is phenomenal; the plot amazing; the characters so great, I'll never forget them. My new favorite series, up there with Harry Potter for me.

Another fantastic Will Patton read

Would you consider the audio edition of The Dream Thieves to be better than the print version?

Not having seen the print version, I would have to say that Will Patton does such a wonderful job, I can't imagine wanting to read the print version now.

Who was your favorite character and why?

No clear favorite. I loved all of the major characters.

What about Will Patton’s performance did you like?

He has a perfect voice for creating the feel of the region and for making the characters come to life.

Amazing/Awesome in the original sense of the word.

I didn't see a lot of this book coming. It was great. I thought some people were this, but they were that and stuff. Really cool story :D

Awakening the Dream

“The Dream Thieves” deepens the mystery and magic surrounding Cabes Water and the dead king Glendower, while expanding on the characters introduced in “The Raven Boys” – allowing Rowan, more of a group member in “The Raven Boys”, to take center stage. A new villain comes to town, a complex and three dimensional man, who (unusually for a villain), is marked with a conscience, clarity of vision and a sense of humor and he moves the story right along as he wrestles with his own demons and issues. The characters live and grow in an environment rooted in mythology, superstition, friendships with ghosts, living tarot, crazy and often difficult family dynamics, sinister overtones and budding romances. Even the little bird Chainsaw resonates with the reader.

I read this book on Kindle and also listened to it on Audible. Will Patton's Audible performance was, as with his reading of "The Raven Boys" masterful and pitch perfect. I find myself seeking out his narrations now as often as I do the books themselves.

I am really looking forward to reading and listening to Book Three of this series.

Great story

Best reader I have ever heard! All the voices legit but not phony sounding. Amazing. And the story, well if you're reading 2, you already know!

Perfectly read, hypnotic series.

Yes, the narrator really brings life to the characters and the story.

Emotion and life.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Pretty much, yes.

Musical storytelling!

Any additional comments?

I am completely enchanted by this series! The writing is so far above the typical standard for YA literature. Maggie Steifvater is a renaissance woman, massively talented in all of the arts...she has a way of channeling her music into her writing. Honestly, some of her word choices/descriptions are just so beautiful...I never want to leave her magical world. She creates fully formed characters, and we know them as well as we know our best friends. Somehow she makes magic totally plausible for me...I just know there's a ley line somewhere! I'm running through this series's fast as I can listen, and I'm completely FRUSTRATED that Audible doesn't have Book 3. WTH??? How can you do this to me?! I can't listen to book 4 without knowing book three...crap, I'm going to have to read a

Second reading

I already loved this series from a quick read through of the books borrowed from a student of mine. Listening to Will Patton read at a steady pace reveals even more foreshadowing and character-building (& relationship-building) than I ever imagined. Talented writer and fantastic reader. Thanks for a great experience... again.

Very good

This is a very good book. The performance was great. I'll be reading more. Think empowered high school youth, naive young girl, add New Orleans type southerner s, and Vodoo and your close.
