Publisher's summary

Don't miss book three in the #1 New York Times best-selling Maze Runner series, soon to be a major motion picture starring Dylan O'Brien!

WICKED has taken everything from Thomas: his life, his memories, and now his only friends — the Gladers. But it's finally over. The trials are complete, after one final test.

What WICKED doesn't know is that Thomas remembers far more than they think. And it's enough to prove that he can't believe a word of what they say.

Thomas beat the Maze. He survived the Scorch. He'll risk anything to save his friends. But the truth might be what ends it all.

The time for lies is over.

The first two books, The Maze Runner and The Scorch Trials, are also #1 worldwide blockbuster movies featuring the star of MTV's Teen Wolf, Dylan O'Brien; Kaya Scodelario; Aml Ameen; Will Poulter; and Thomas Brodie-Sangster!

Also look for The Fever Code, the much-buzzed-about series conclusion that finally reveals the story of how the maze was built, and James Dashner's other best-selling series, the Mortality Doctrine: The Eye of Minds, The Rule of Thoughts, and The Game of Lives.

Even better than books 1 and 2

The struggle between Thomas and Wcked continues and hits a lot closer to home than I realized it would. This book gave some satisfying conclusions to different parts of the story and left me wanting to start on the nezt one to see where this is all going. Fantastic story and narratorn

Great!

Love it, except for the ending. I liked the ending, however I felt that everything went to fast, and then it just ended..... But I still liked it... I guess

Great conclusion...HIGHLY recommended.

In the third and final installment in the 'Maze Runner' series James Dashner brings our characters to a dramatic, harrowing, conclusion. Picking up where book two left off, the characters go through the most challenging experiences yet, facing their toughest adversaries.

James really develops our characters to the max in this installment. Bringing real consequences, and some severe heartbreak. With tragic loss, but simultaneous relational development, the reader really begins to be absorbed in the action. Setting a great pace, all of it coming to what feels like an abrupt, yet relaxing, conclusion, this story will have you guessing from start to finish. And the reader will appreciate the way James brings the characters full circle in the end.

Mark Deakins really outdoes himself on the narration. Building on the life he speaks into the characters from books one and two, he did a great job distinguishing characters, and reading the action in such a way that gives the reader the ability to see it through their own eyes.

The audience has definitely matured for this book. The somewhat graphic depictions of death can be fairly jarring, and the amount of loss can be a significant emotional weight for young readers. The profanity is slightly more in this book than the last two as well, though none of the main characters speak it as they have their own pseudo profanity. That being said i would gauge this book to be appropriate for an audience in the 18-35 range, though i do believe that many younger readers would still enjoy it.

Over all this book was an incredible conclusion. It ended well, even through the deaths of well developed endearing characters, and the reader will likely find satisfaction in the final answered questions found in the epilogue.

This is a HIGHLY recommended book from this reader.

This book is Wicked

When you think life for the Gladers couldn't possibly get more challenging, book 3 proves you wrong.

Thomas must complete one more test to help him and his friends survive against WICKED. Can he do it? Will this test be what destroys them all?

Book 3 hurt me the most so far in this series. I couldn't believe that certain characters were taken from us and it was absolutely not fair. I was a bit disappointed by the ending though... which is such a shame.

Slightly disappointed.

I don't feel that this last book lived up to the first two. I found myself bored and a " can't wait for this to end " feeling.

Wicked is Good

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I can't really say too much without giving anything away but I think some of the information needed to be presented earlier in the book.

Would you be willing to try another book from James Dashner? Why or why not?

Yes I would, In all the series was really good, just started to lack in the last book.

Have you listened to any of Mark Deakins’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have not but I love this guy. He does voices for the different characters, is easy to understand. outstanding job. I am going to look for books now that he has read for as my initial search when looking for something new.

Was The Death Cure worth the listening time?

Yes

Any additional comments?

Out of the three, this was certainly the worst but still decent. I lot of it just felt like page filler though. A lot of things that happened in the book could have been skipped to get to the good parts. This book could have been about half or less the size and still wrapped it up nicely. I will say one thing for parents though. This series gradually gets more and more violent. If I had known how violent it gets after the first book, I would not have let my 10 year old son read it. Especially this last one.
