Best of the series!

Both the story and the performance were the best of the series by far. Made me want to listen to the city of bones series.

All 3 books have been excellent.

Will, Jim and Tessa are such strong characters. Charolette, Henry are perfect together. I was not sure I would like this kind of book, but Cassandra Clare has won me over. The narrator, Daniel Sharman does a terrific job bringing the characters to life. I could not hardly put these books down.

Great story!

Cassandra Clare never seems to fail to entertain. Though the story wraps up a little fairy tale-ish as no one is left broken hearted and literally every good possible outcome is achieved it is still a great read through. I'm not a huge fan of the narrator who didn't do a bad job at all, just sounded odd as the female voices and sometimes pronouncing "Tessa" as "Tesser". It is for those reasons I wish alternative narrators were available.

A Triumph!!!

Cassandra Clare has always been a great fantasy writer. I loved this trilogy as much as I loved the Mortal Instruments and the movie. But what I find to be incredible <slight spoiler> is that she has managed the holy grail of romances in the Clockwork series. She has told a story about a love triangle that is completely successful. Where no one is jealous and nobody is left out. they can all love each other with all of their hearts. And it was believable! <end slight spoiler > And I cried for the last glorious two or three chapters of the ending. It was sooo well written! Thanks Ms Clare!!! I loved it!!!

wow that END!

SPOILERS

AHHHHH I was not a happy camper when Jem went to become a silent brother and Teas and Will began their courtship---
I was FUMING when Tess and Will slept together when they thought Jem had died--- even if he had.... it had only been hours maybe a day. I get that they also believed they would die but I still had trouble with it. But I loved when he decided to court her the long way around and how deeply they both felt the loss of Will.
The death of Will was so beautiful and the details of their life together brought tears to my eyes. And when Jem came in and played him a song of his life on his death bed I lost it! Soooo beautiful! SO MANY TEARS!
I would have been happy their and the fact that she added in Jem and Tessa finding their way back to eachother was just an added bonus! looovvveee.

The Final and Best Book of the Series

I was utterly surprised to find that a book that I chose and enjoyed tugged at every heart string I have.

I'm not much of a romantic. I don't read romances and generally groan when a book I'm reading (or hearing) starts to turn that direction.

This book that I chose because of the fantasy, intrigue, and action had such beautifully woven character development that I barely saw it coming and when it did I didn't groan a bit.

This is also a testament to how well the characters were developed in books one and two. In this third and final book the character threads were pulled taught and they wove together beautifully to deliver an emotional and fitting ending to a great series.
