Embrace the Forbidden...

What if there were teens whose lives literally depended on being bad influences?

This is the reality for sons and daughters of fallen angels.

Tenderhearted Southern girl Anna Whitt was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She's aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but Anna, the ultimate good girl, has always had the advantage of her angel side to balance the darkness within. It isn't until she turns 16 and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage and her willpower is put to the test. He's the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna.

Forced to face her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?

Love It

I am completely in love with Kai and Anna! This series is a favorite of mine and the audio version was just as good. Narration was great!

A new take on an old story

Would you listen to Sweet Evil again? Why?

Yes, because it has complexity to it, I found myself replaying my favorite scenes over and over again, analyzing their meaning.

What did you like best about this story?

That the male hero is a sinner hoping to love a girl he things is too good for him :-)

What about Erin Mallon’s performance did you like?

The many different voices she performed

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes, I could not stop listening! I am so addicted!

Any additional comments?

I LOVED this story. I got the second book immediately and loved it also.

Eh...

Alright so this might be a bit schizophrenic... Sweet Evil is one of those books that starts out pretty strong and just when you think its going to elevate it takes a serious dive. I think this happens because the author wants to leave us hanging for her second installment (which I really HATE btw.)

This is a unique take on the Angel stories as its pretty close to what the Bible teaches. The most interesting bit being that God is actually involved. How many Angel books have you read where the "Angels" don't even believe in God? The answer is a lot. Unique for the win.

I really liked our bad boy, and I mostly liked our "good girl" heroine. Although, I definitely liked her better when she was misbehaving. By the end of the book I kind of wanted to push her off look-out peek. Though I can't be sure if that is the character or the narrator.

All and all this book was more then a wee bit annoying in its lack of progress. There is barely any action and freaking nothing gets resolved. NOTHING....

So if you don't mind some pretty gory imagery and LOTS unresolved teen angst then give this one a go. It really is unique in its genre.

Pretty good...

What did you like best about Sweet Evil? What did you like least?

I like that the main character pretty much stayed good. I like a character with principles and morals. The book was entertaining without with having to push limits.

I didn't like all of the discussions on Kaidan's sex life. This book is geared towards teens and although I know Kaidan is supposed to be the epitome of a bad boy, I thought there was too much of him being a seducer. There's no way I'd be attracted to a guy that I knew was out having sex with other girls everyday and who's main focus is to get a girl naked.

If you’ve listened to books by Wendy Higgins before, how does this one compare?

This is the first I've read or listened to.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Being from the south and having an actual southern accent, I found her accent to be over the top. I added this narrarator to my "do not listen" list. I got used to it and finished it and I'm even interested in the next book when it comes out, but I'll probably read it instead of listening.

Could you see Sweet Evil being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Nah, the story is okay, but not compelling enough for filming.
