Publisher's summary

From the number-one New York Times best-selling author of the Mistborn Trilogy, Brandon Sanderson, comes the first book in a new, action-packed thrill ride of a series - Steelheart. Ten years ago, Calamity came. It was a burst in the sky that gave ordinary men and women extraordinary powers. The awed public started calling them Epics.

But Epics are no friend of man. With incredible gifts came the desire to rule. And to rule man you must crush his will.

Nobody fights the Epics...nobody but the Reckoners. A shadowy group of ordinary humans, they spend their lives studying Epics, finding their weaknesses, and then assassinating them.

And David wants in. He wants Steelheart - the Epic who is said to be invincible. The Epic who killed David's father. For years, like the Reckoners, David's been studying, and planning - and he has something they need. Not an object, but an experience.

He's seen Steelheart bleed.

And he wants revenge.

good YA fantasy novel

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

If you enjoy young adult fantasy, then you'll almost certainly enjoy this book. For some reason I didn't realize it was more aimed at kids when I got it and was a little disappointed. The concept of this book (super "heroes" are real but they are all villains) is pretty interesting, and the story has some good twists and minor mysteries

good not great

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I had the ebook along with the audio and I found myself reading more than listening . it was hard for me to keep track of the different charachters and the dialogue

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

the super powers and the fast passed plot, least interesting I would say the charachter development

Which character – as performed by MacLeod Andrews – was your favorite?

None stood out, I must say the book itself regardless of the audio preformance was ok not great and the audio was ok too

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Paranormal action fun

Cool story/narrating

Where does Steelheart rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is the first Audiobook I have listened to on Audible and I really liked the way it was done!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Steelheart?

The parts I liked best are the description of the characters. Sttelheart, Nightweilder, Prof, Megan. All of them, its cool to picture them in your head doing all sorts of crazy things as the story goes on.

Which scene was your favorite?

I liked a couple of scenes. I liked the mental picture I got when the group was in the lower part of the city and they were approached by some thugs wanting to get Abraham's gun and he would calmly solve the situation. As well as picturing prof fighting Steelheart.

Any additional comments?

Overall I thought it was narrated very well and I cant wait to listen to the next book!
