Publisher's summary

Cinder, the cyborg mechanic, returns in the second thrilling installment of the best-selling Lunar Chronicles. She's trying to break out of prison - even though if she succeeds, she'll be the Commonwealth's most wanted fugitive. Halfway around the world, Scarlet Benoit's grandmother is missing. It turns out there are many things Scarlet doesn't know about her grandmother or the grave danger she has lived in her whole life.

When Scarlet encounters Wolf, a street fighter who may have information as to her grandmother's whereabouts, she is loath to trust this stranger, but is inexplicably drawn to him, and he to her. As Scarlet and Wolf unravel one mystery, they encounter another when they meet Cinder. Now, all of them must stay one step ahead of the vicious Lunar Queen Levana, who will do anything for the handsome Prince Kai to become her husband, her king, her prisoner.

Little Red.

There were lots of reviewers who didn't like the fact that Scarlett was the main focus of this book and didn't have Cinder as the main focus. I enjoyed this book even more than the first and can't wait for the next, Scarlett was a great addition. It is a young adult book and I tend towards the naughty adults stuff but I think all can enjoy this book. It has fantasy, sci-fi, romance and political war. I enjoyed the narrator, and I really enjoyed it when she did Scarlett's voice with the slight accent. I defiantly will be getting the next one, hopefully it won’t take too long to come out.

I love the Audible more

I tried reading this story before because I'd heard great things about it. I just couldn't get into it. but it was on sale on Audible so I gave it a shot and I'm enthralled.

Cinderella with a bit of Little Red Riding Hood

This is such another great book in this series. It never clicked in my poor brain last time around all of the references to Little Red Riding Hood. It definitely clicked this time, everything from the red hoodie to the wolf men and grandma. I can't believe I didn't put all that together the first time I read this. Yes, apparently I can be extremely slow at time!

This story continues so well from the first book, Cinder. It continues on Cinder's journey and brings in many new characters. I do love these characters! Marissa Meyer does a really great job of developing the characters and they definitely grow on me. I love all their differences and strong personalities. I love that they clash and that there is so much sarcasm coming out of several of the characters. It makes such an enjoyable read when I get attached to the characters.

This is my second time around on this book. This time I listened and Rebecca Soler was fantastic. She gives each character their own voice and you feel their personalities coming out. She really does an amazing job. Her narrating makes this a great listen. I love the story and I'm looking forward to continuing. I forgot just how well done this was. An amazing, interesting and imaginative twist on Cinderella and now with a bit of Little Red Riding Hood thrown in for good measure. I love it!

decent continuation of a good story

The author tells a good story but all the angst about this and that goes a little bit overboard at times. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Fantastic series

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes absolutely. I love to read so I read the first book but time constraints did not permit me to read the second so I listened to it with audible because I could not wait to hear what happened next. This is a great series very well narrated by Rebecca Soler. I can't wait till 2014 for the next one. I wish Marissa Meyer would write faster. The first book Cinder was a read my book club picked. I am so glad we did. I love the parallel to the old fairy tale.

What about Rebecca Soler’s performance did you like?

The accents were great. She did a great job.

Loved #2

Reading the reviews of Scarlet, I was a little worried it wouldn't live up to Cinder. But I have to say I loved it just as much! It took some getting used to, and there were times in the beginning that I wanted to know what Cinder was doing, but I grew to love Scarlet and Wf just as much!
Can't wait to start Cress!!

love this series

I pretty much inhaled this book. lol. I just love this series. I didn't like it at first but Cinder and her rag-tag gang of friends she collects grew on me.
