Publisher's summary

After leaving Society and desperately searching for the Rising - and each other - Cassia and Ky have found what they were looking for, but at the cost of losing each other yet again: Cassia has been assigned to work for the Rising from within Society, while Ky has been stationed outside its borders. But nothing is as predicted, and all too soon the veil lifts and things shift once again.

In this gripping conclusion to the number-one New York Times-best-selling Matched Trilogy, Cassia will reconcile the difficulties of challenging a life too confining, seeking a freedom she never dreamed possible, and honoring a love she cannot live without.

The popularity of Suzanne Collins’s The Hunger Games trilogy and its film adaptations has paved the way for so many great dystopian books and series in YA, imagining harrowing worlds where teens must fight for survival and define what life means to them. The enduring popularity of the series has proven that dystopian stories and the sometimes-dark futures they imagine are endlessly fascinating to our imaginations.

Not bad, but I felt it could have been better.

I really liked the first book Matched the best. The story was from a single point of view of Cassia and it was full of mystery of a futuristic dystopian society. The second book Crossed started to break off into other's point of view and they brought in dual narration. I feel the problem breaking off into multiple point of characters views is that one looses the sense of being a character in the book, it looses the intimacy of the first person reader and turns the reader into a third person observer. The same multiple character continued in Reached, which again turned the reader into an observer instead of part of the story. My second complaint is that the author got a little too descriptive and poetic with the characters enteral monologues, which really slowed the pace of the book and got a little annoying at times. Overall it is a creative story line, I just felt like it could have been executed better.

A Wonderful Addition To The Series (Matched)

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would and already have recommended this collection of books by Ally Condie. Mostly because its a great story and set sometime in the future. So I recommend this book to people that like the dystopian genre of books.

What other book might you compare Reached to and why?

The Hunger Games, Delirium, Divergent, and Enclave. All of these books are dystopian in nature and have a great story lines that are packed full of adventure, rebellion, and love.

What does Jack Riccobono bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I liked all 3 of the narrators. They all speak very clear and have calming voices.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Would You Wait For Me?

Any additional comments?

This 3rd book of the series Matched was a great end to the trilogy. However, the author did leave it as a possible cliff hanger into a second series of adventure! This book was a little more slow and not as full of adventure as the first 2 books. It however was a treasure trove of information that answered many questions and tied mini story lines together. This was a great book to sit back and relax while listening to these 3 narrators.

Expected more and wouldn't recommend

Full disclosure, my viewpoint could be distorted by the reading and not the writer.

By the third book, I expected more character growth. Zander was the only character to have notable growth and elements growing up. I found all the characters to come across as childish and whiney. I did not find the story enjoyable and wouldn't recommend.

Beautiful Story with an Interesting Concept

I thought this was a well written and very good story. The whole idea was interesting with the pandemic and the society and how it all came together. It gave me the feels and I enjoyed that a lot. I thought the title of the books were interesting and it gave the reader something to think about.

Enjoyable series

I enjoyed the series. I'm super picky about endings and this one was good. It wrapped things up enough to feel finished.

Beautiful Ending...

If you could sum up Reached in three words, what would they be?

Sweet, Tragic, Beautiful

What was one of the most memorable moments of Reached?

The Ending for Xander....he deserved it...and his part was played perfectly...

What about Jack Riccobono’s performance did you like?

Jack was OK...I do like Ky, but it was played with such angst, and was a little annoying at times.... But he ended on a good note, so it was still decent,,,

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Reach, Reaching, Reached!

Any additional comments?

The beginning of this book was sooooo slow! But it picked up in the middle, and the end was just WOW! I cried, it was beautiful and wrapped things up decently...I do think there is room for #4!
