Publisher's summary

Out of Breath is the third book in the million-copy bestselling Breathing Series.

“My insides still burned. I considered what I could do to push the torment back into the dark and return to my numb state. I couldn’t do it on my own. I needed help. I was desperate.”

Emma Thomas is hiding. From everything and everyone...including herself. But she can’t hide forever. Her past will find her, and her secrets won’t remain quiet - not if she wants to be forgiven. Emma learns that honesty can hurt worse than betrayal, and the truth may cost her the only love she’s ever known.

The highly anticipated conclusion of The Breathing Series will have readers holding their breath until the last page.

Emotionally compelling story ! Riveting to the end

Would you consider the audio edition of Out of Breath to be better than the print version?

Yes most definitely! The narration brought the characters to life and captured the raw emotions expressed. I wouldn't have read this book any other way.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Of course Evan and Emma being the main characters. There was great depth to their characters. Sara, the best friend was provided necessary "comic relief" when the mood got heavy.

Have you listened to any of Kate Rudd’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

First time hearing her narration She was very good in capturing all the emotional drama. She was able to individualize each character very well.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Emma finally lets Evan in on her secret and is totally honest and Evan expressed his feelings for her. EVAN-"let me love you enough for the two of us...until you can accept that you're worth it,because you are,Em. I don't know how to convince you but I'll spend the rest of my life trying" EMMA- "Every breadth I breath is because of you...you are my reason to breath"

Any additional comments?

The Breathing Series (trilogy) is a compelling emotional journey of self recovery, redemption and the strength of love.

My impression on the breathing books

This book changed my life and the author did an amazing job on this series. I am giving this book a five star rating because I read theses books in one week, a Monday to a Sunday. I can not fathom how there’s books are life changing. From a girl who gets abused to ending in love and support is just amazing! I loved the add books more than words can say in my ending conclusion I would very much recommend theses books to anyone who would love a story with love romance suspense and satisfaction. I am plaining on reading these books and falling in love with all the characters again.

Captive storyline

It was hard to take the gravity of pain Emma had to endure. It pissed me off the many times she would underestimate that crazy aunt, goodness know I would have snitched especially when the teachers confronted her. The level of emotional pain was so much more, it is understandable the desire to simply just let go. I was so glad when she finally let Evan completely in but more importantly that she found the desire to live.

What an emotional ride!

I almost didn't read this last book because I had read a review and it discouraged me about the ending. I am so very glad I read it anyway. I really identified with this series on several levels. The ending was just right. There were a couple of things I wasn't thrilled about but they were very minor within the rehlm of the whole story. I read the books back to back to back and was ever grateful I could. The ending on the first book has to be the best and worst EVER! I literally screamed NO! when I got there. I very much recommend this series. The writing is very immersed in each characters role. I found myself grinning, sobbing, laughing and aweing often. Very credit worthy.

A brilliant awesome series of books

I’m not sure if I’ve ever read a more awesome series of books at least not since I was a child. Rebecca Donovan hit it out of the ballpark with these books. I’m sure that I’ll read them many times as I tend to do when I love them as I do. I’m 71 and I’ve read Little Women at least once a year is since I was 10. And the Five little Peppers as much, until the book fell apart about 10 years ago and I’ve been unable to find another cop
Kate Rudd also did a wonderful job, if I had one complaint it was when she was reading the male parts I had a hard time determining whomever was speaking I always thought that it was Evan until enough was said to help me decide, I didn’t seem to have a problem with her speaking the female parts.

NEVER GIVE UP...NEVER!

Any additional comments?

Goodness...I hate to compare, but it was really hard not to invision the tragic dance with death that Bella did in the ...umm....famous vampire series that I shall not admit to listening/reading...tee hee. But It was really similar, a persons heart was broken, moving through life as a zombie....just going through the motions and WHAM....the past comes up and forces its way into the reality you've been trying to ignore. Although I find her bitchy stubborn side annoying and frustrating at times.....its all worth it!
