Publisher's summary

Daemon's determined to prove what he feels for Katy is more than a product of their bizarro connection. So she's sworn him off, even though he's running more hot than cold these days. But they've got bigger problems. The Department of Defense is here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that Katy and Daemon are linked, Katy's a goner. So is he. And there's this new boy in school who's got a secret of his own. He knows what's happened to Katy and he can help, but to do so, Katy has to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that's possible. Against all common sense, Katy's falling for Daemon. Hard.

Katy's seen someone who shouldn't be alive. And she has to tell Daemon, even though he'll never stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them - from her?

No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies....

Great series but you have to get past the VOICE!

Would you be willing to try another one of Justine Eyre’s performances?

HELL NO, NOT IF I CAN HELP IT!!!!! Sorry but to me it was really that BAD!!!!!

Any additional comments?

This series is great but you may have to do some fooling around with the EQ just to stand the narrators voice! It would have been so much better if they chose someone else, I even think the story would have been better!
This is not the first time I bought an audiobook with Justine Eyre as narrator and couldn't listen to more then a chapter or two but I really liked the characters and story line so that's what kept me going!
Like I said I had to do a lot to the EQ just to listen to her voice that's how bad it really is!!!!!

From fantasy to alien mode.

Would you consider the audio edition of Onyx to be better than the print version?

No. Never is to me though, but it was good.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I don't know, Daemon Black, Kitten, Dee....

What does Justine Eyre bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Not really

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Poor Adam.

A Great Sequel

Many of the people who criticize the relationship between the two characters being one of emotional abuse in the first book needs to read this one. Many questions are answered and actions are changed for the better.

It’s hard not to get involved in the lives of these people. There area lot of twists and turns that make you wonder who was the “bad guy.” There is also a death that made me quite saddened.

All in all, it is a good story. Justine does a great job narrating the book. I only wished there was a companion book to get Daemon’s side of the story like “Obsidian”.

Better than the first, and the first was awesome!

I came to these books late, but I'm so glad I finally did! This book was particularly funny and endearing. I really, really enjoyed it and the narration is fabulous!

There's a sweet side to the sarcastic Daemon Black

I loved the story and we see a softer side to Daemon as he tries to woo Katie. I wanted to shake Katie so many times during this story. The ending is bittersweet.

Onyx is pure gold

This book is simply A-MAZING! I thought Obsidian was good, but then I listened to Onyx and was blown away. Daemon and Katy are back and better than ever! There were so many twists and turns and OMG moments that this one actually took my breath away. And that ending….whoa! This is such a well written and intense story that many times I forgot this was a YA book. Jennifer Armentrout is an extremely talented writer and this series is a must listen for anyone that enjoys YA PNR.

5 Stars!!

Any additional comments?

Just finished Onyx and stayed up most of the night reading. Much more action and the plot thickens here. We moved out of Twilight realm and we have also moved out of YA as far as I am concerned. Yes, main characters are in High-School but the content is a bit deeper and the PG-13 rating is teetering closer to R in my opinion. All that being said, I really enjoyed the entire book but may take a break before the next one. This got heavy towards the end with deception, death and a lot of other drama.
