Publisher's summary

My name is Michael Vey, and the story I'm about to tell you is strange. Very strange. It's my story."

To everyone at Meridian High School, Michael Vey is an ordinary 14-year-old. In fact, the only thing that seems to set him apart is the fact that he has Tourette's syndrome. But Michael is anything but ordinary. Michael has special powers. Electric powers.

Michael thinks he's unique until he discovers that a cheerleader named Taylor also has special powers. With the help of Michael's friend, Ostin, the three of them set out to discover how Michael and Taylor ended up this way, but their investigation brings them to the attention of a powerful group who wants to control the electric children - and through them, the world. Michael will have to rely on his wits, powers, and friends if he's to survive.

Great series of books, one of my favorites

I've loved this book series for years but getting to listen to it brings a real emersive feeling back to the book which shows a lot since just reading the book itself is a journey.

Good book

I really like this book because it brought me back to when I first read it about 6 to 7 years ago.

Electric!

17 electric children were born all on the same day but not all survived. The survivors were separated and raised as normal children. There are 2 electric children that live in the same city. There is also a man named Hatch who is trying to gather all the electrics and take over the world.

YES! That alone drew me in! It was such a good, quick read! I really enjoyed this one. Will probably read book 2 later this year.

It was amazing good to listen to and/or read

I love the action and the different powers that have to do with the same subject. I loved how they all teamed up even tho they all weren't together in the beginning

With Power comes responsibility

This was not what I expected from the author, but it was still a fun surprise. The characters were all realistically drawn and put into typical teen experiences, but due to the story line, the outcome of those experiences were often far from what you'd have expected. Reading the book as an adult, there was a lot missing, however, attempting to read it from a YA perspective, it was a lot of fun and very exciting.
Although I was satisfied with the ending of the book, I felt that leaving one of the major characters left to be resolved, was something that could only work in this format. Hopefully, there will be a sequel that will bring us to a more satisfactory conclusion.

Stunning story. Can 'feel' characters w/ Berman.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes- I recommend this book- and especially this audiobook. First, it's a good story- told cleanly. Looking forward to movies. Good going RPE.
Second- Audio narrators can make or break a story. Berman's narration excells! He makes each character unique. You can 'feel' their essence. His transitions seem effortless and are easy to listen to.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Berman bantering the teens voices back and forth - made me laugh as I could 'see' each individual character and love each of them.
