Publisher's summary

My name is Michael Vey, and the story I'm about to tell you is strange. Very strange. It's my story."

To everyone at Meridian High School, Michael Vey is an ordinary 14-year-old. In fact, the only thing that seems to set him apart is the fact that he has Tourette's syndrome. But Michael is anything but ordinary. Michael has special powers. Electric powers.

Michael thinks he's unique until he discovers that a cheerleader named Taylor also has special powers. With the help of Michael's friend, Ostin, the three of them set out to discover how Michael and Taylor ended up this way, but their investigation brings them to the attention of a powerful group who wants to control the electric children - and through them, the world. Michael will have to rely on his wits, powers, and friends if he's to survive.

Very entertaining read!!!

This was a most entertaining and refreshing read. While this book is aimed at teens, I am in my sixties and still found it really fun and engaging. I caught myself laughing at many of the character interactions in the first part of the book. The action builds throughout the story. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series and will recommend Michael Vey to my kids and grandkids.

Great Story

I'm an adult who loves stories in this genre. It has been a while since I found anything really enjoyable and I was pleasantly surprised with this book. It was very entertaining, well written, and not too juvenile. I eagerly await the next one!

Good story

For me it was a little slow to start but you got to know the kids before it went to the "drama/action " part, and these kids were not perfect. Did think adding tourettes to the "little" picked on kid was overkill, just his size alone made him a target. But the story carried itself well and was pretty good.

Harry Potter fans, get your fix here!

Would you listen to Michael Vey: The Prisoner of Cell 25 again? Why?

I would listen to this book again because I so enjoyed that basic good vs. evil theme...I loved that the characters were flawed and you loved them anyway.

What other book might you compare Michael Vey: The Prisoner of Cell 25 to and why?

Definitely a must for a Harry Potter fan

Was there a moment in the book that particular moved you?

I would love to tell you my favorite part but I don't want to ruin it for you.

Any additional comments?

Great book for kids and adults. Characters with real flaws and handicaps and you love them. Issues like bullying addressed with outcomes you will love. The main characters have a good value system that you want your kid reading about.

A grand slam

What I like most is that I can recommend this story to my mom, my teenage sons, my husband, my girlfriends, anyone... absolutely anyone. And they ALL loved it. How many authors can write books like that? very very few. The quality of the narrator makes you think you are watching a movie. Of course, the well written story helps, but it's the narrator that makes you drive around the block a couple of extra times just because you don't want to shut it off when you are driving in your car.

MV: Prisoner of Cell 25

This is a great book and it's going to be a big hit with the middle school population. I heard about it and had to get it right away. I was lost in Michael Vey's world for the 3 days I was listening to the audible book and I'm still thinking about it. Great read.

Couldn't stop listening

I got this book and started listening right away. I finished it in just two days. I got so much work done because I didn't want to stop listening. It was my reward for sticking to my 'to do' list. I liked how the characters interacted. It was nice to see them act in unpredictable and ingenious ways. I like YA fiction, but so much of it is dysfunctional and filled with foul language. This was a refreshing change and I can't wait to read/listen to the rest of the series.

Great read that ends tloon!

The author, Mr Evens, used people and places throughout this book that conjure images & conversations that I experienced...even as a thirty-somthing
