Publisher's summary

There's something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.

Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price's attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He's the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.

Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce--and goes out of his way to make that very clear--she can't let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her.

Dangerously exciting and darkly romantic, Fallen is a page turning thriller and the ultimate love story.

An interesting concept

Would you listen to Fallen again? Why?

No.

I followed through with the entire series, because the idea was interesting to me. The writing, however, is pretty shallow, and Justine Eyre is made for a someone else's listening pleasure, not mine.

What other book might you compare Fallen to and why?

It's loosely parallel to the Twighlight books.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Yes, both rather slow.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No. I had figured out the plot far ahead of the story line.

I kind of hate the male lead

I seriously kind of hate Daniel. He is seriously such a jerk the entire book right up til the end. Even in following books he doesn't get any better. I actually find myself rooting for other people to win her heart.

So good

I’ve been meaning to read this book for a long time and I’m so glad I finally did. It’s mature enough for YA but also great for slightly younger crowds. Great plot and I can’t wait to see where the next book takes us.

it was alright

as the title says it was adoration l alright. a lot of character development and getting to know them. it was annoying to read Luce unabashedly taken with Daniel even though he treated her harshly for majority of the book. if you have patience the story moves rather quickly around chapter 15.
