Though most girls believe she's different, Elphame knows she is. Odd. Strange. Unique. No one in Patholon has her abilities--or her connection ot their goddess. And she has a destiny she is about to discover....
A restlessness has infused her, leading her to the other side of her country. There, the remnants of an evil war still linger. Will Elphame be able to redeem both her country and her soul mate, a survivor of that war? The choice she makes now may bring disaster - or a future in which she may never be alone again.

"Cast effectively blends Celtic and Greek mythology to create an appealing fantasy world. While the story itself is gripping, it is the characters who bring this book to life." (Romantic Times BOOKreviews)
This was a great book written by P.C. Cast. This is a continuation of another adult series she is writing, but following the daughter and son of her main character. However, her daughter and son are very much grown up and in search of starting their own lives. This is NOT for children, there are more than a few detailed adult scenes. So I recommend this book for the mature 16/17 and older set. I was confused as I was listening to it as to whether or not I found this on the adult side of audilbe, or the kids side.
If you are an adult, or very mature young adult that can handle this type of material I think it is an enjoyable listen. I don't usually like titles that are set during different times, however this was enjoyable.
Not sure why! Maybe the reader but I can't get past chapter 7! I will try another time when I don't have something better to read. I really wanted to like this book to! I'm upset that I didn't!
wow P.C. Cast has to be one of my most favorite writers, I loved this story of "Elphame" and her journey to find herself. Michal Friedman narrtion was perfect, I could follow the characters easily with her voice, love the accent she uses for each of the characters, it was amazing.. this book was a great choice...
Its a great book however, people should know that there are a few sex related sceenes in this book. I would not suggest that younger teenagers read the book unless they have parental premission.
I don't normally care for period stories, but I love PC Cast,so I gave it a try. It is a great story, it has a lot of connection with the House of Night basis, so it was easy to follow. I really enjoyed listening to this one!
The story itself sounds very interesting but the person that read the story makes it very hard to get into because they just sound boring and too soft spoken. I would recommend just reading the actual book instead of listening to the audiobook.
This is a beautiful continuation of the Divine series. There were many strange looks from my coworkers, when I was seemingly crying for no reason during the reading of this book. Like all books from P. C. Cast, they stir strong emotions. I love these books and I will be immediately moving on to this book's sequel; Brighid's Quest. I can't say it enough, I love this book.
