Worth The Audio Version

Originally I️ read this story on the kindle without any audio. Recently I️ decided to go back and listen to it when I️ had a few extra credits. I’m so glad I️ did!

I️ really enjoyed the production value of this performance. This was the first time I’ve heard someone add music, and it really made the experience even more lovely. The actress delivers the story perfectly and made me forget that I’ve read this story before!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I have to say this is a very interesting story line. Different then what I thought it would be but Good! The person that read it was very good.. made the story even more interesting and separated the characters well. I would recommend it!

great sequel

Where does Days of Blood & Starlight rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

i think this is an excellent sequel. i dont want to compare it to other audiobooks because i like many books for so many different reasons.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Days of Blood & Starlight?

i really liked the way it "ended". i can't wait for the next and i thought it was a good place to end this one. i don't want to be too descriptive because i don't want to spoil anything. it is very different from the first book. this one was more about the struggle and was darker.

What about Khristine Hvam’s performance did you like?

khristine hvam gave an excellent performance. her characters are all unique voices, i can tell them apart.

Any additional comments?

you really have to read the first book first, too much happened to start with second, the expierience would be ruined if you don't. this book was great, i thought the first was better, not because this one is a little darker and it was more about the inner struggle as well as the war that has been going on but becuase the beginning was a little slower and a good portion of the book is setting the stage for the next. several new characters, which was good mostly, but i was so anxious to hear more about the main characters i felt impatient, ridiculous i know, i am sure it will make the next book richer for the added characters. the second half of the book really picked up speed and i really liked where they ended this one. can't wait for the next. really recommend these books, excellent!

Yes. Its worth it. I listened to Smoke and Bone for a second time before Blood and Starlight.

What does Khristine Hvam bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The texture of her voice is a part of the tale for me. It BELONGS to this story. Generally when there's a narrator that I like I keep a watch for them when narrowing down what to read next. .. but in this case I dint want to hear the voice of Karue (sp?) as any one but karue....

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I didn't think it could get better!

Such an excellent continuation of an amazing story. The worlds, the deep and nuanced characters, and the roller-coaster ride of emotions. I can't say enough good things about this story! An absolute MUST read.

Could not put down!

Karou is really annoying at first because of the funk she's in, but it gets better! Full of surprises and now I'm so ready to read the next book!

It's part two of a unique and engrossing story. The perfect accompaniment to my jewelry building studio time.

What about Khristine Hvam’s performance did you like?

K. Hvam's reading is the perfect voice for the book. I bet the author is very pleased. Her accents are amazing and it's a wonderful, exciting and rich listen!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Even when the story has taken a serious turn, the side characters bring joy and humor, making it so much fun.

An amazing sequel

I love how much this novel builds upon the first one. We get so much depth with the added POVs throughout. My heart breaks and mends so much throughout the story.

I don't even know...

I don't even know where to begin. This book took me on a roller-coaster of emotions. At one point it had me so depressed I stopped listening to the book for an entire week. I loved Daughter of Smoke and Bone EVERY SINGLE THING about it... except the end. I went into this book knowing we were going to be getting a different story, a story far more serious and a whole lot less fun.

Sh*t just got real.

This book is magnificent. It's not always pretty and it is often gut wrenching. Laini keeps you guessing and absolutely NOTHING is expected. I don't believe a reader could ask for more beautifully orchestrated writing.

The first half of this book is a little like walking through mud (only a little) and the second half is like riding a dragon bareback out of a secret dungeon bank. By the time you finish this book you will wonder why on earth you just subjected yourself AGAIN to the torture of an entire year waiting for the finale. You will know the answer of course, and you would do it all over again given the choice.

This book is that good. So get to it!
