Male narrator is bad. Story is great as usual.

Male narrator is bad. Story is great as usual. Female narrator is pretty good but sounds like she's 16.

Love it even the fifth time through!

Sweetly written, unique storyline, lovable and not so lovable characters. Enjoyed the audible version as much as the written.

Love the new narrators!!

Love this series. Decided to binge the whole universe, so of course I started with the Mortal Instruments. The only reason I pushed through the absolutely horrific narration of the previous books was because I’m stubborn and didn’t want to skip the books. But it was hard. I cringed through entire chapters at the narrators. Wondered why I was doing this to myself. But, what a reprieve with this book! Both narrators were so great, but I really enjoy Sophie Turner. She had such a great voice and flowed seamlessly from her voice to characters voices. Through the entire book, I never had to go back and figure out which character was talking or wonder if the narrator had even ever read a book aloud. Both Jason and Sophie brought the characters to life and kept me enthralled in the story. Perfect. Thank you!

Dohring Rhymes with BORING

Warning: this is a preemptive review. I haven't read passed the first page of chapter one. BECAUSE OH MY GOD JASON DOHRING IS GARBAGE!!! I feel like he's reading a science textbook. He is insanely monotone. I didn't even realize the first sentence was Jordan speaking and honestly, it's been < 2 minutes since I hit pause and can't even remember what I just listened to. Sophie reading the prologue was fine, she didn't have a very good differentiation of character voices, but at least she had enough inflection to make it at least a little riveting. Please, for the Love of all that is Holy. Please re-narrate. For as popular as this series is, the audio should not be absolute garbage. What happened to Natalie Moore???? She was my favorite!!!

Good but,

I really like these stories and listening to them made me remember why I like Cassandra Clare's writing so much. But I do wish that they would have used the same voice actor for all of them and if they wanted to use new actors for the second trilogy then to use the same voice actors for all three books.

great story, narration needed improvement

I was not a fan of the switching Vocals back in book 4. it made listening feel more like a chore at first the issue is trying to figure out how both narrator voiced each character. This would not be anywhere nearly as bad if they had just had one Narrator through out. It would have been even better if we had just stuck with 1 Narrator in the series. But more to the specific narration in this book, there are a few bits where in Sophie's parts where I felt like I was a little confused, either due to the accent or to a few pronunciation quirks, but overall Sophie performed it pretty well. However Jason's reading felt, off. I was having moments, due to the pacing and tone in his reading where I was genuinely curious if the name of the male Narrator was the name of a Text to Speach program. To clarify, I would have happily listen to either of them read had it been just one of them reading, but swapping from Sophie's Accent to Jason's borderline emotionless reading was extremely jarring.

The narrators for this book are awful... just read

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Why can't we have Ed Westwick back? Why does Jason sound awful and monotone? Sophie is tolerable, but still awful.

If you’ve listened to books by Cassandra Clare before, how does this one compare?

The storyline was good, but I couldn't get past the narrators. It has taken me months to finally finish listening to it. I wish I could get my money back that is how bad it was.

Would you be willing to try another one of Jason Dohring and Sophie Turner ’s performances?

No!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not really.

AMAZING! Narration could be better.

It was everything I hoped for and more ! Can't wait to get lady midnight. The narrators don't get it right but the story is still stronger and comes through loud and clear. Read it it will not disappoint.

Male voice Actor is terrible!

Sophia Turner blew me away as a voice actress, however her male counterpart was unbelievably drab. I would have preferred the story be read solely from her.
