Publisher's summary

Callis Rose is a girl blessed with a gift from above or cursed with a ruthless power she barely understands; it's really just a matter of degrees. As her family life is turned asunder she is thrown into an indifferent Social Services program where she defends herself the only way she knows how.

Callis is moved from home to home until she finally settles at the Lowries. As she starts her first day of high school she meets both her favorite and least favorite person. Both happen to be part of the same household. Mindy Denton makes it her single mission in life to destroy Callis, even as her brother, Kevin, falls deeper into love with the mysterious and beautiful girl who is hiding something from them all.

Wow!

Worth every second. It's heartbreaking and funny all in one book. Tufo is the best.

what if Carrie by Steven King found love.

mark has done it. and it is worth every second. you either die the hero or live long enough to become the villain. it's just so hard to tell who's story it is and what role they play. in the best way possible. on top of it all Sean brings it to full bodied live in voice

Another kick ass book by Tufo. You won't be disappointed. I laughed, cried, and cringed in horror, what else could I ask for ;)

Every Rose has its thorn

If you could sum up Callis Rose in three words, what would they be?

Magic is real

What other book might you compare Callis Rose to and why?

Honestly I’ve never read another book like this. Despite the fact that I was listening to it it was a page turner LOL. I did it in one sitting. And I think I’d have to say that the PS is absolutely my favorite part

What about Sean Runnette’s performance did you like?

Considering he was reading from a female’s point of view a majority of the time he was absolutely amazing. Normally I only hear him as Michael Talbot but he made me believe he was also Calais Rose. I do wonder why he didn’t use the same voice for BT he does it all the other bo considering he was reading from a female‘s point of view a majority of the time he was absolutely amazing. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I didn’t know if it would be one then I’d be interested in. But once I started listening I couldn’t stop and I finished it in one sitting. I do wish that it was longer even though the story came to a conclusion I was just enjoying the ride.

C.H.Bordelon here

Being a published author I know all about the hard work and dedication it takes for a novel such as this to take proper form. I truly love the cooperation between this author and narrator. Great work on yet another story.

Not the kind of story Tufo' is know for,

but great in its own right.
If you are familiar with Mark Tufo's writing you know he has many voices, Mike Talbot the protector, Timothy the crazed clown, Riley the American Bulldog - so why not a teenage girl?
It was a very entertaining story if you just go with it and don't try to find a deeper message.
if you like Carrie you'll probably like this, it has a similar feel to it.
And as always, Sean Runnette was outstanding.
It is my goal to listen to everything written and read by team Tufo-Runnette

Enjoyed more than I did "Carrie."

This was one of the titles in a "special discount" list Audible offered me.
I really enjoyed it. I may receive some heat for saying this, but I enjoyed it more than I did "Carrie." A modern day Carrie with so much more juice!

Callis Rose!!!

Mr. Tufo knows how to weave a story. WOW! Grabs you from the beginning and doesn't let go. And Sean Runnette does his usual stellar job performing. Don't pass on this one!

Grips you from the start

Very good story. Narrator only "slipped" into the voice of the detective once and I immediately recognized who he sounded like. I didn't make the actual connection until his girlfriend called him by his nickname. Clever, Mark!
