When friends stop trusting each other, Darkness is there to fan the flames.
Things have turned black at the House of Night. Zoey Redbird’s soul has shattered. With everything she’s ever stood for falling apart, and a broken heart making her want to stay in the Otherworld forever, Zoey’s fading fast. It’s seeming more and more doubtful that she will be able pull herself back together in time to rejoin her friends and set the world to rights. As the only living person who can reach her, Stark must find a way to get to her. But how? He will have to die to do so, the Vampire High Council stipulates. And then Zoey will give up for sure. There are only seven days left.
Enter BFF Stevie Rae. She wants to help Z but she has massive problems of her own. The rogue Red Fledglings are acting up, and this time not even Stevie Rae can protect them from the consequences. Her kinda boyfriend, Dallas, is sweet but too nosy for his own good. The truth is, Stevie Rae’s hiding a secret that might be the key to getting Zoey home but also threatens to explode her whole world.
In the middle of the whole mess is Aphrodite: ex-Fledgling, trust-fund baby, total hag from Hell (and proud of it). She’s always been blessed (if you could call it that) with visions that can reveal the future, but now it seems Nyx has decided to speak through her with the goddess’s own voice, whether she wants it or not. Aphrodite’s loyalty can swing a lot of different ways, but right now Zoey’s fate hangs in the balance.
Three girls…playing with fire…if they don’t watch out, everyone will get Burned.

I love true crime. YA books and I didn'tuse too but seriese. Vampire, harry potter, especailly dystopian novels.
Very wordy as the other said and you already knew what was going to happen it was very obvious. Not the same as the rest. Very young reader also.
I didn't like this book as well as the previous ones. It seemed to get a little wordy in places and didn't keep my interest. Still ok.
This book dragged on and on, but this time it had a purpose. Stark, Stevie Ray, Refeim and Aphrodite each have a bigger part in this book and we are finally closer to the big showdown. I am excited for the next book. Even though this book was a filler it does a good job to set everything up. I do think that the whole book could have been condensed into maybe 5 or six intense chapters vs a whole book though. You may want to wait for a sale to get this one.
Caitlin Davies is I'm sorry BORING!!!!! I get so use to one of the readers and then you get a different one. Its hard to stay in focus with the characters... they lose me when they ALL start to sound the same Stevie Ray you lose her twang... Aphrodite she just sooo much attitude you can't mess her. But the twins and Jack and Grandmother Redbird they just aren't right Please find a person to Narrate and stick with them.... Oh My Goddess.... Other wiseI so love this series as much as V. A...
I just loved this book. IMO it was my favorite of all of them so far. The narrator does a great job and I love how PC Cast uses the characters all differently instead of just one. I can't wait for the next book.
I really love the women that reads the house of night books, I am really excited she is reading the last 5 books. She reads so well and I love the emotion and personality she gives to all my favorite characters.
I got into this series when I borrowed the tangible books from my brother-in-law. When he ran out of the series I started getting them on the Kindle. My issue is not that the books are poorly written, or anything like that. I am just not into the high-school melodrama of it all anymore. It seems like all the books are just filled with high-school drama. In saying that, if I were a high school girl, then I would find these books top notch. I am a middle school teacher and, in being such, I find myself reading/ listening to young adult fiction a lot to buy the books for my classroom. These are just not up my alley as an adult.
The book itself is pretty much on par with the rest of the series, I enjoyed the continuing story and advancing of the characters. That said, it took me FOREVER to get through this book because I could barely STAND to listen to the narrator. Her accents are laughable, and in certain cases downright insulting (her reading of Karmeesha's every line made me cringe!) I won't be listenting to the next book if there isn't another narrator change.
I said Hunted was the best book of the series so far. I said Tempted was the most powerful book of the series to date. Burned beats both of them. Looking back, it's hard to believe I was ready to give up on this series. My problems with it still remain. I'm not a Zoe fan and I don't think much of the way she treats guys, but the other characters more than make up for her and I'm hoping she'll actually settle down finally. Since the stories have started being written from various view points, the books have become deeper and more complex and Burned is the most complex of the lot, and I mean that in a good way. As with all the books, Burned is literally impossible to put down and the writing just gets better. I can't wait for the next book in the series.
i love the house of night series and cant wait to read the next one 💙❤
the plot just gets more and more interesting!
"A great vampire series.."
Another great book in the House of Night Series. Properly addicted! If you like the young adult Vampire type books, this series is for you! However, them keep changing the narrator is annoying, you just get used to one voice for the main and other characters then they change it! Only bad point I can make!
