Publisher's summary

As the demon takes her into his arms and away from the flames, he begins to understand he isn't rescuing her; she's saving him....

"After speaking to the other angels on the team, I hang up my cell and sigh. No one's heard from Aaden in months. This bothers me not only as the leader but as his girl - which I'm not. Great. Now on top of being grounded, I'm sitting here acting girly and needy. Argh! Screw this! I start to head downstairs to plead my case with my parents when something out the window catches my eye. I lean in closer to get a good look. What I see astounds me: Soundlessly and without hesitation, the humans line up and jump off the roof one at a time."

I really liked it

First let me say...that after reading the reviews...I was a bit worried. I have to say I do not agree with all the negativity. I rather enjoyed the story and its characters.
Pryor is a strong willed teenager with mounting weight on her shoulders. After all...who wouldn't when Death is your mother. Pryor is forced into her roll as the leader of her group...the group she abandoned the year earlier out of fear. Then...there is Aiden.....
Forbidden to love Pryor because of a deal that was made. Now how to break it.

On to book 2!

DNF

This was too juvenile for me. My fault for not checking closer. Teens.

I want book 2

Both narrators were great. the only problem I had was that we still don't know what's going on with Silver, what happened while he was at the center, and why he can't be with Pryor. I'm kind of in suspense to get these answers and am seriously befuddled because normally a book can be predictable but this one was not. I want answers. great story as well.

Didn't finish

Poorly written. Character age inappropriate behaviour which made no sense. Narrator irritating. Didn't make it half way.

Enjoyed this YA novel more than I thought I would

There are many things I like about this book. First, the fantastic cover -it's really beautiful and drew me to the book with enough interest that I decided to read it. I have never read a paranormal, angels vs. demons book before, and I have to say I really enjoyed this one. It is non-stop action with interesting characters.

I thought, at first, that the characters were a bit older than they actually are. I don't really think this should be considered as a novel for teen readers, as most of the subject matter I would not want my young teen to be reading - there is sex, drinking, violence, rape. If the characters were older, at least 18, then everything in this story would make more sense. A 14 yr old girl generally should not be considered as a leader of anything except maybe an afterschool club.

Overall, I liked the story, and will probably read more in this series. I think the writing is good, for the most part, and the premise is a good one, just wish the characters were a bit older.

The narrators did a really good job particularly Jennifer O'Donnell.

Different

The narration in this book was different than what I’m used to; Jason Clarke ‘s narration did not begin until chapter 10 or 11; narration was broken up into chapters. I’m not fond of this method. Jennifer sounded as if she was reading at times rather than becoming the character. The storyline was okay but book was definitely for younger crowd. I don’t plan to listen to the rest of series.
