"Oliver, in a pitch-perfect teen voice, explores the power we have to affect the people around us in this intensely believable first novel...This is a compelling book with a powerful message and should not be missed." ( Booklist)

Awful Narration...

The story was intriguing but I can't get past the ridiculously juvenile narration. The whole story was ruined by the overly theatrical and absurdly immature dictation.

What an excellent book!

I read this because my teenage daughter was reading it and I'm so glad she (and I) did!! The message is powerful and positive and identifies with the struggles that are faced at that age. The reader does an amazing job with the sounds and nuances of the various characters! I was hooked from the beginning to the end!

beautiful

the story was amazing. I truly could not stand the main character in the beginning of the book, and almost stopped listening. I am so happy i kept listening, the growth of the main character is truly exceptional. it is one of those stories you want to stop just so you don't have be done with it. Especially knowing there is no sequel or prequel and that the character you have come to know and love, or know and hate are just gone. I am currently scouring reviews and recommendations trying to find something similar to fill that void you inevitably feel when a good book comes to an end.
The narration was truly beautiful, except when it came to male voices. The passion and emotions were so clear through Sara Drews narration as Samantha, sometimes it brought me to tears, that I don't think I would have felt if I was reading the book myself.

2nd Time

Really nice easy listening. Love Sarah Drew. I did imagine all the characters as their Mean Girl counterparts. Linsday as Regina George, El as Amanda Seyfrieds character, Al as Lacey Chabert, but Sam just as Sarah Drew looking like she does in Greys Anatomy. Not a masterpiece of Lit, just good easy listening with a nice discernable twist.

Wow, I feel like crying

I actually hoped that the ending wasn't actually going to end that way. I wanted her to be able to not only save Juliet but herself as well. I can't wait to see the movie adaptation of this book!

loved

I loved reading this book myself, but listening to Sarah Drew narrating as Sam was truly amazing.
I had to be careful when I was listening though, I have younger sisters and didn't want them to hear some of the content. But this book/audible is definitely worth the listen/read.
