A Good Start To A Series...

The story was well structured, fast moving, but still reasonably interaction between characters. The narration was excellent and on point. I will completing the series.

I would love for the others to be available on audible. Not sure I like the male narrator much for that particular part. I really like this series I wish there were more like it.

interesting story

I enjoyed the plot however the harshness of the male narrator threw me off a little. I believe a male with a slight Japanese/ American accent would have been the bees knees

Good and eye-rolling

I liked the female narrator, but I didn’t expect the male narrator to be a black man, lol.

The things that bothered me was the mispronunciation of “Yakuza.” Emphasis was on the wrong syllable. (I have Japanese in-laws.) The other was never using the word “nodding” for yes or agreement. The writer always used shaking the head for that, and I found it annoying. But I liked the story and the characters.

this book was amazing l love how they're love for each other being them closer to each other and he didn't give up .

Good story

I really liked the story. Female narrator did a good job. The male narrator seems good but this was the wrong story for him to read. I’m still going to get the next book when it comes out. But I’ll be better prepared if it has the same narrators.

Excellent read

Oh my goodness this book was wonderful!!! I loved every minute of it. I loved that they made a wonderful character in Ebony. I loved that she was a plus size dark brown women!! She grew up in a neighborhood just like mine, and I identified with her strength!! I was also impressed with the author of this book who did not stoop to using the stereo types associate with Black women from poor neighborhoods. I think this was a great love story!! Kudos to the author for this wonderful entertaining story.

Narrators ruined the story!

This book is my first one by this author. I guess I was looking for sort of the same amazing narration as Kenya Wright's book "Redemption", but it was NOTHING like it. These female character should have been read by Mari and the male by ANYONE else! The male's voice was too old for the male character and just didnt fit, and the female seemed to be pausing as if she were actually reading a script at times. Not sure if I'll read the rest of the books in this series.
