Publisher's summary

War is spreading through the galaxy - and it's becoming abundantly clear that there's an outside force at play in this explosive and hilarious new installment of the Epic Failure series.

With the galaxy thrown into chaos by mutual breaches of the Two Hundred Years' peace, what seemed like an isolated incident on the Thelicosa/Merida border has become an epidemic. In the midst of this chaos, the Thelicosan and Meridan fleets on their respective borders have come to a sort of tense peace after the events in Book II, but now it's clear: Somebody wants war. And it's not the Free Systems of the galaxy.

No. It's a mom-and-pop convenience store gone galactic. It's the purveyors of balloons and nachos and supplies for bowling lanes. It's the company that made the droids and a large part of the technology that all of the Free Systems are using in their militaries.

It's Snaggardirs. And they want to snag it all.

Have you literally LOLing

I recommend this book to fans of humorous light scifi and/or fans of Scalzi and his ilk.

I’ll be 100% honest with you: I don’t particularly remember the books in this series, other than that I found them entertaining and gave them high reviews. I always seem to forget why until I start the next book. So let me tell you why: it’s because these books are literally laugh out loud funny. Not hard exhale through nose funny, but literally laugh out loud at your desk funny. The comedy is varied where some jokes are slapstick, some are juvenile, and some are clever. All around the humor is diverse and keeps you engaged.

In addition to the humor, the story is clever with well-designed characters that you can’t help but find endearing. Next, the plot this time has our wily hero in charge of the entire fleet as it goes up against the evil Snaggardirs Corporation. The problem is, they manufactured pretty much everything, so when even your coffee maker is against you, what do you do?

So get this book and find out. It does a splendid job of closing all the open plot lines and giving our characters closure. All while making you want to keep on listening for more laughs and shenanigans.

Great series but too quickly wrapped up

As the title says, what a great series! The humor what fairly consistent with all the books, and writing quality and voice acting is top tier!

...But gosh the ending felt too speedy. We didn’t see an end to the Rogers/Viking romance and a lot of characters and plot points were left hanging. The whole thing felt rushed. Also, the ending with Rogers left me sad. It was ironic for sure and perhaps a poetically good end, but pretty sad. The whole ending felt too much like real life, which is fine out of context, but that was not the tone of this book or series so it felt out of place. In short, it was kind of a shitty way to end a great series. If there’s ever another book written I will improve this review but it sounds very much like there won’t be.

Great conclusion for a great series

Second time through. It’s still hilarious. Perfect listening for a long drive, or big project.

May your parallel lines never intercept!

This trilogy was quite exciting, entertaining, humorous, and even surprising. Many of the supporting characters are multi dimensional. Zieja never looses the sarcasm when telling a story full with introspection, morality and even wisdom, which leaves you with the understanding that reality is absurd.

Easy and enjoyable story

A great escape from the everyday. Light and amusing. The reading is quite good but a little flat at times. Nice world building.

The many f bomb and other swears used

The two previous books were really funny. The swears kept it (I would rate) pg 13 in previous books, the only f bomb used in both were actually pretty tactful
This book I don't know what went wrong just threw out tactfutnesss and just drops f bombs left and right. increased other swears quite a bit. Love the series but am now Disappointed in it. glad I can return it
