Publisher's summary

The world’s defenses are failing. Can a man ripped apart fighting his inner demons now avert Armageddon?

Michael Dahl is broken.

After sacrificing his magic, his health, and his lover to exorcise a demon spy, the nineteen-year-old agent is devastated to learn that the people he sought to protect see him as a conspiracy theorist and an embarrassment. But when he is shunted away to a meaningless research post, Dahl uncovers a disturbing revelation: his victory over the demon was not the end, but a portent of the impending apocalypse.

Putting every shred of his dignity on the line, Dahl hopes to rekindle a flame between himself and an ex-lover who can foretell destiny. But when he finds the man living as a homeless addict on the edge of sanity, Dahl fears he has ruined both the world’s best chance of salvation and any possible shared future.

With millions of lives and a second chance at love hanging in the balance, can Dahl claw his way back from rock bottom to stop the end times, for both the world and his heart?

Suicide Kings is the third book in Words of Power, an engrossing dark urban fantasy quartet. Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets the Umbrella Academy with a morally gray ensemble cast full of found family, wild brawls, and spicy m/f and m/m love stories.

great story

It was a great story, but a little too much intimate detail of two guys relationship. I mean a lot of detail. I'm a live and let live kind of person. I don't care what makes you happy. I just really don't care to hear EVERY detail. I pretty much feel that way about heterosexual relationships as well. If I wanted to hear porn I wouldn't be listening to audible. But great story, really. :)

Homosexual theme throughout.

I thought the graphic portrayal of gay sex was too much. If it would have had a short passage about it I wouldn’t have an issue. But it seemed like a reoccurring theme throughout the book. Maybe a little disclosure of its theme would have been helpful.

was an OK series, story was a bit weak .

was to much like so many other books only difference was powers come from books. or stories.. Wish the author went into further on how and why on some what made that book so different than others. Never stuck to one main character had 3-5 per book.

OMG you have to listen to this book.

Hold on to your butts, because the world is about to get a whole lot bigger. This book is the third in the series and doesn't just build on the same formula. Rather than gloss over things, Suicide Kings really delves into the messy aftermath of that which has come before. The characters continue to grow, to change, to evolve, and the interplay between them continues to be one of the shining gems of the series. A newer treat is the expanded nature of the setting and lore. We start learning details about things that have been hinted at since the very beginning. Loved this one, and can't wait to read the next one. Also kudos to the narrator. She does an amazing job of delivering the lines and making the characters unique and distinct.

Major character/ world development - more spice

Plot lines and relationships set up in the first two books begin to domino rapidly becoming intertwined, deeper, creepier, and more spicy as the magical apocalyptic threat continues to build. narrator continues to knock this out of a park with a absolutely stellar performance including tons of dialogue and action with a large cast.

If you enjoy gay romance...

Chelsea Stephens did a very good job reading this, I recommend her for her character control.
The story started out (in the first book) very interesting and with an interesting premise. In the second book it started into a gay romance tale. I'm not sure if that is what she had originally planned or if some WOKE friend or editor suggested to make it fill in with current political feelings.
By this book we had a full blown gay romance which took the book on another course. I had a hard time finishing and set it aside, but came back to reread to make sure that my assumptions were correct.

nice stories

nice stories only issue is you should have done a bit more research you talk about pagers and block buster which means your books place in 80's or 90's
but when you talk about Fremont st you mention performers in circles but Fremont circles on have been around about 5 years or so they weren't around in the 80's or 90's
