Publisher's summary

What happens when you call off your engagement to your high school sweetheart and go on the honeymoon anyway? New York Times bestselling author J. Sterling brings you this fun and flirty story about finding love when you least expect it!

I was engaged to my high school boyfriend, about to get married and live a life I no longer wanted. After breaking up, when he insisted that I go on our planned honeymoon anyway … alone … I wasn’t about to say no.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think that I’d meet someone there. I wasn’t looking for love, but it sure seemed to be looking for me—in the shape of a six-foot tall, tanned professional surfer named Diego. Our time together was filled with passion unlike anything I’d known back in my small town.

I went to the North Shore one kind of woman … but I came back completely changed.

Now what am I going to do about it?

Cute Story

Enjoyed the story, but the narration was lacking. Did not care for that part at all.

Great Story

My only complaint was the female narrator. She sounded very stilted and did a horrible job narrating Diego’s part.

Spicy

Goodness! I feel like this book had way more spice than the other ones. I had to use headphones.

Have the Male Narrator read the whole book!

Yikes the female narrator is so stilted and stiff. But the story's cute and the male Narrator is good.

Not actually a holiday book

Since this is in a novella series on holidays, I expected something about spring the season or Easter.
Instead, her name is Spring. So, yeah.

The premise also involves two strangers, both of whom have only ever been with one person, who meet and hookup immediately. This didn’t ring true for me and further made the sex feel crass.

The biggest downer, however, was that nothing exciting happens. Spring falls out of love right before her wedding and they part with zero fireworks. Honestly, you can save yourself the first 40 minutes of the most amicable split ever and start listening at Chapter 5. Then it’s virtually smooth sailing with a super rich, but easy going guy, that Spring meets on day 1 of her not-honeymoon.

Part of my boredom was due to Ms. Aquino’s monotone narration. She did okay with the Pidgin English of local Hawaiian boy Diego, but had a very stilted cadence. Even with Hawai’i as the backdrop, this was a bland listen.

Random pet peeve: I’m tearing through this author’s Audible Plus novellas and it’s really starting to annoy me how caveman possessive the guys get, and how quickly. Here, they’ve just met and he doesn’t want other men to see her in her sexy swimsuits … because only he should get to see her fine body. 🙄
Hello! They’re in Hawaii and he’s supposedly a local. Girls in bikinis should not be an issue.
