With the positive, no-nonsense strategies offered in When Your Best Isn't Good Enough, listeners can raise their low self-perception and overcome these feelings of rejection and inadequacy.
Working in his well-known, upbeat style, Dr. Kevin Leman helps those who struggle with self-doubt to value their talents and gifts and accept their shortcomings. He points out why the lifestyle we develop as a child determines our degree of success or failure and explains how, regardless of the past, each person can develop a healthy lifestyle today. Dr. Leman also shows readers how to apply these same principles in raising children with healthy self-esteem.

This book is a self help book, but an easy read. You do not have to have a degree in counseling in order to be able to apply the principles laid out to help you overcome the issue of being a perfectionist. An issue that most "first born" people usually have to deal with. I have shared this book with several of my friends because I also purchased the Kindle version as well. Love that feature about Audible and Kindle, don't you?
Yes. Learned allot and enjoyed listening. I tried to listen shortly before turning in for the night; and as a result I probably dozed off and missed some content.
This guy is talking about real life and with humor.
Leman was real. He was truthful about himself.
I will look for more books from this author.
This book was very insightful for the perfectionist that lives in all of us. The book covers many parenting examples and uses those to show what things may have effected us as adults. One of my all time favorite books.
First of all, the guy is a great speaker and the recording is very clear, unlike many I have downloaded. However, I found the book spent WAY too much time on parenting. And I didn't agree with all of it either. There is some good material but I had to get past 2 hours of parenting to get to anything worthwhile. All in all, it wasn't very helpful.
