He is very motivational. He believes you have to not only take your level of participation to the next step, but ten steps higher. This can become a little over the top after a while.
More cross referencing to other situations, industries, life experiences.
Not a bad motivational book which you can't argue with, but take it on small dosages and you'll get more from it.
The presentation was excellent and motivating but the material has been done just to many times.

Grant Cardone is an excellent presenter and he can probably sell anything he wanted
This book lacked substance! He continually rants and reminds me of the proverbial snake oil salesman. For example, one of his big breakthrough thoughts is that if you work harder you will accomplish more. Of course this is true, but it is not the basis for an entire book. Sorry I gave away the plot. He advises to just say yes to everything without forward thought. I find people who live this approach only add complexity to your lives and usually accomplish less. I find that successful people do exactly the opposite. Successful people eliminate complexity and distractions from their life and have extreme focus on their unique capabilities. Grant might be entertaining to some people, but many of his concepts are dangerous. I am sorry I wasted my time listening to this book.
I would give it 3.5 stars if I could. It is motivational...surprise, that's what he does. There is nothing revolutionary in this book. The premise is simple. Work hard...10x harder than everyone else around you and you will dominate them. The argument has it's flaws as he suggests doing nothing is just as much work as working 10x harder. That part didn't make sense to me. However the book got me excited and motivated to set better goals and work harder to reach those outrageous goals. I liked it but didn't love it. Also, his pronunciation of some words does get annoying. Impartent is not a word...
If you need a shot in the arm or a kick in the butt...listen to it. If you are looking for something new, skip it.
I'm only 1/2 way through but wanted to write a quick note to shed some light on the negative reviews.
This book is not necessarily a how to. At least not so far. What this book is, is a reminder that if you think you are working hard enough, you're not. If you believe you're thinking big enough, you're not. If you feel you have have reached your full potential, you haven't.
I am already finding the 10x mindset chipping away at my "normal" life and showing improvements.
I do recommend listening to this at 2x speed (if you can handle it). As some people have complained, there isn't a lot of new stuff here. But at 2x it's like having a personal instructor trying to motivate you.
This book isn't going tell you there is an easy way out. It IS going to tell you that it's your duty to be successful and to get your butt in gear. Being successful takes effort.
I'm really glad I didn't listen to the naysayers. Sometimes we don't need new strategies, we only need a jolt to wake up and take action.

This is a good motivational book. The intellectuals won't like it but if you just need to get out of the "sales funk" this is the book for you. I liked it.
Ten X is "In your face". It will motivate you --if you have the time and ambition to work the "rule". If not--- save it until you do.
When I was young my father took me to Baja California. There I tasted what a taco really was and I've never forgotten. Listening to the author read this book was like that.
The fast food taco was like all all those inspirational books that I had read before: no flavor and no spices. Grant Cardone put the inspiration back in inspirational thinking by giving me the tools and his experience; enough of his experience to know that I can do it too.

"A poor version of Tony Robbins"
I felt shouted at by the author (who also narrates this audio book). There was a lot of theory and not much real, practical help... other than do everything ten times more, longer, etc than others. It's the statement that begins to grate within 30 minutes... just do everything ten times greater than previously and expect everything to take ten times longer and the challenges to be ten times greater. I kept listening, despite it getting harder and harder and finally gave up part way through the second CD. There was nothing new in this audio book for me.
I would have preferred a less 'shouty' narrator and someone who spoke at less than a breakneck speed.

This will definitely be staying in my library. Brilliant book and Grant has a great style to his narration. Lots of additional content not found in the book as well. Definitely recommended.
Read it according to Grants instructions, in the shortest time frame you can manage then go back and listen again. Keep listening until it's second nature.
