Audie Award Finalist, Personal Development, 2014
Reknowned speaker, educator, author, activist and minister, Eric Thomas is rising to national prominence by delivering a high energy message that tells youth through first hand experience how to live up to their full potential and greatness and by breaking the cycles of crime, hopelessness and despair that many face daily. Known for his engagingly personal approach, his messages are both dynamic and inspiring. When coupled with his own cycle-breaking experience, his blunt essays on reality and remarkable ability to reach even the most jaded of minds, has helped thousands of youth nationwide become peak performers academically, spiritually and personally.
Eric has electrified audiences ranging from Fortune 500 companies to urban educators, collegiate athletic programs and inner-city youth development agencies with the message of his own life's struggles and the principles, insights and strategies he used to overcome them. Eric is no stranger to the ills that plague our communities as he was born in Chicago, IL and raised on the streets of Detroit, MI. His childhood and adolescent years were difficult, and his life struggles and personal identity issues were intensified because like so many, he did not establish a relationship with his biological father until his early thirties.

I love a GOOD BOOK
This is my first Audio Book and I loved it so, the sound is crisp and clear, I actually stayed in my car listening to my Iphone for an half hour before I decided to get out.... lol.
What can I say about Eric Thomas, HE ROCKS! HE IS INSPIRING! HE SPEAKS THE UNADULTERATED TRUTH! As a youth motivator, he truly inspires me to continue to reach out to our youth, and encourage them to be the BEST OF THE BEST!
Eric Thomas is very narrative and has compassion in his voice as he reads
This is my first time.
To succeed as bad as I want to BREATH!!!
This is one book that should be in your library.... GET IT TODAY!
It was the life story of the author, I was looking for for a non fictional book to read to help myself.
As far as Non-fiction listening goes, this is as good as it gets. Great personal life story, great principles that anyone can apply and truly inspiring all the way around.
It's a compelling story with a lot of inspiration.
I like the fact that the author is the actual narrator. Given the fact he is a motivational speaker, he speaks with enthusiasm and inspiration.
Yes, definitely. It is one of the books where you would listen to when you feel hopeless or really down.
The way Eric Thomas narrated the story just adds something special to the whole book. Especially since it is from his own experiences, he made me feel closer to him. As for Charles Arrington, the way he narrated the story is really different from Eric Thomas. He is more clear and precise.
Success is not a destination. Success is a journey.
It should go straight to the point. Most of the he talks on and on about single issue.
No, I feel like you paying for a couple of quotes, not the motivation factor you are looking for.
No - its not that great!
Poor quality material
This story is nothing special. Its about a guy who is a normal kid, runs away from home, finds people to look after him and then after 15 years gets a MS degree. Its not exactly mind blowing. There's people out there with disabilities who go on to defy doctors... whats so special about this story? Quoting people like Kanye West really damages the integrity of the book. If you are a kid growing up in the projects this book maybe worth reading. Otherwise, avoid!!
If it actually contained, tools, for success, I like tony robbins, and brain tracy books, because they always give you at least one tip worth keeping or remembering.
Les Brown, or some other motivational speaker, whose books are more reasonably priced, or maybe a business book
Charles was unnecessary, ET, is usually more passionate, but his voice over definitely helped the book
disappointment, it was more of an autobiography filled with stuff you know from his youtube videos
If your a fan of ET buy the book, but if your looking to be inspired, or for tools to help your see things differently, watch him on youtube
A Gift needed
7 Habits of Highly Effective People
I believe sheer honesty on life and what is needed to be successful
I would love to see him tour in Philadelphia book stores, schools and radio shows
LOVE THIS BOOK
Awaken the Giant Within
It kept my involved
I would recommend this book to anyone looking to improve themselves
"Great Values and Principles to live by"
I love the way Eric has made the book around his life and related it to his successes and failures... by applying what he had learned from these life events. He then translates this in simple to understand methods, and again relates it to his life. This makes it easier to relate this to my own life the fact that he's given a example makes the learning experiences more visual.
I have taken note of the principles and values and going to live by them as I work on my own dreams and success.
Great performances by both.
I liked Eric's tone and drama that he added to make it real and in the moment as if it was happening right then.
"Face your fears" or "The push towards Greatness"
This story of sheer inspiration has filled me with the tools to motivate myself even when I feel like I'm all out of trying. Eric has been through a tough journey to greatness, thanks for sharing it with me. I wish I could meet you personally.
I love books like these with a real story and complex personality. It is in my top 10.
It is Erics life story and he is the main character in this book. He has had many struggles in his life, but it is his strength and persistence that has brought him success.
Eric tells his own story, it feels much more immersive and real. I cannot imagine anyone else telling this story with such a great passion.
Absolutely, it is so immersive that you want to know the whole story and where it has taken the character.
It is relatively short book in comparison with others, but it is a real example where hard work brings amazing success to a person with a very sad background a many struggles.
"ET Epic Journey"
Eric drew from very personal experiences to give reader the best examples of how to structure personal growth
The Shadow of The Wind - Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Anyone has the ability to achieve greatness
Having listened to Eric previously it gave a realistic depth to the book, it was like he was sat next to me talking.
When Eric realised that investing in himself would prove to be the greatest investment of his life.
Highly reccommeded to all
Once people listen to this book they can follow up with the YouTube videos, then they can understand where his passion comes from... The heart!!! Enough said. :)
Eric of course... And bob.
