Don Miguel Ruiz has dedicated his life to sharing the wisdom of the ancient Toltec. For more than two decades, he has guided others toward their personal freedom. Today, he continues to combine his unique blend of ancient wisdom and modern-day awareness through journeys to sacred sites around the world.

"Despite the New Age-sounding language, Ruiz is refreshingly clear in the presentation of his ideas. Reading aloud, actor Coyote sounds every bit the enthusiastic old hippie, genuinely excited by the concepts he is spinning." (Publishers Weekly)
I can't even begin to explain how amazing this book is. If you are ready for the "lessons" you will be blown away. If you want to significantly improve the quality of your life, read this book.
I don't know of any books that can even come close to this book, because it is so well written and the fact there there is a clear "why" makes me love it more. The concept of Eckhart Tolle;s A New Earth and this book are similar, book authors are looking to create Heaven on Earth.
he has a nice voice.
Fell in love.
Great tools to start understanding that never was your fault. Fantastic!.
How much we hurt our kids just by talking.
ok, nice voice.
the four agreements, of course!
Everybody must read it.
The 2nd agreement seems to contradict the 1st. Your words have power, so use them carefully; but then don't take anything (good or bad) personally. Find a different book.
I haven't read the print version.
the four agreements =) #1 be impeccable with your word, #2 don't take anything personally (a big one for me) #3 don't make assumptions and #4 always do your best!
this book really helped me to be a better person and it helped me to stop getting into stupid arguments and bickering with my fiance. It really helped me a lot.
Great Life Plan
Love the voice, feels authentic to the book.
The beginning/intro was a part that I could've skipped. But, the chapters that talk specifically about the 4 agreements are so true and really help to make it clear what is important in life & how to be better to yourself.
Wade & Enjoli
I absolutely love this book. It is a life saver
simple guide to finding peace with your past and building a better more peaceful future
Nop but he does have a great voice
Simple concepts, but so reaffirming to listen to the soothing reminder to:
1. Be impeccable with your word.
2. Don't take anything personally.
3. Don't make assumptions.
4. Always do your best.
I have read this book several times, but listening to Peter Coyote read it makes it just that much better. What a fantastic choice of narrator.
I read this book as a young adult. Now listing to it as an older adult. I have three kids and a wonderful wife. Hearing these words again really makes since in a hole new way. I recommend this book to young and old! It is pure genius. Get it today!
All of his works!
Changed my way of looking at myself and others! It is my dream!
Great book. Maybe our government should read this and take a few notes! ha!
Yes, I believe I have listened three times and purchased the written set "The Four Agreements, Toltec Wisdom Collection"
I like to sit and read but in the Society in which I live it is really hard to do, so to have an audible version is great to have while on the go.
Don Miguel Ruiz
His story and his connection with his ancestors.
The idea of our domestication in our society.
YES, totally an eye opener to ones inner self and what makes us who we are.
He gives us tools to gain the much needed personal freedom to live as we were intended as human/spiritual beings here on earth.
Did not read the book
The intensity of each of the four agreements and the common sense of each agreement
Certainly if you could live by them a little every day and be aware in your mind to keep referring to them life would be a lot easier.
Listened to it while climbing a mountain in Ireland , the book lasted as long as the climb . At one stage I was near the top and was so engrossed in what I was hearing that I failed to notice I was walking on a ledge with a 1000 ft drop on both sides. I sat down for a moment and faced my fears and moved to the top. The music in the book was very suitable while on this journey as it was Irish traditional and this music has its foundation in places like mountains and wilderness in Ireland.
"Tools For Life"
This is a brilliant book with an excellent audio edition. It describes four simple agreements to make with yourself, which allow you to increase your control over how you experience your life: 1) Be impeccable with your word; 2) Don't take anything personally; 3) Don't make assumptions; 4) Always do your best. Simple does not mean easy! Don Miguel's book helps the reader have the power of these agreements and use it. Peter Coyote's reading is a delight which helps the learning process. This is timeless work that can be referred to time and again. I found the Four Agreements even more powerful than Stephen Covey's Seven Habits, which is saying a lot. And just like the Seven Habits, the Four Agreements are powerful in all aspects of your life including family, work and leisure time.
"An interesting perspective"
I was initially put off by the rather religious stance at the beginning of the book. I decided to stick to it and keep listening. I was rewarded as the book laid out some useful principles:
1. Be Impeccable With Your Words.
2. Don't Take Anything Personally.
3. Don't Make Assumptions.
4. Always Do Your Best.
Simple, not always easy to practice but resonates with me!
This book reaffirms many things I've heard or read somewhere else along my journey in life. It explains how we allow thoughts and feelings from our past to affect and imprison our present and offers a solution to release ourselves from that mental misery. Well worth the time and effort to have a read.
"No words to explain"
It is the most beautiful book I've ever read. It has increased my awareness to the next level and transformed me into a happier bring. Absolutely love it.
A very short and concise book with 4 excellent things to practice in order to start changing your life and attaining freedom of our self-imposed, hateful chains... I keep listening to it over and over again and it is starting to leave a mark, the "seeds" are growing.
I absolutely recommend!!
"A Way Of Living"
Yes: I listen to it everyday while out walking, this way the message will be imprinted into my memory bank and eventually become a way of being
The sheer ease of listening, there is no patronizing language, no miracle cures, just suggestion for a more fulfilling contented life with the need to control or fear!
No, I bought it to walk to
I would definitely recommend this book
