Don Miguel Ruiz has dedicated his life to sharing the wisdom of the ancient Toltec. For more than two decades, he has guided others toward their personal freedom. Today, he continues to combine his unique blend of ancient wisdom and modern-day awareness through journeys to sacred sites around the world.

"Despite the New Age-sounding language, Ruiz is refreshingly clear in the presentation of his ideas. Reading aloud, actor Coyote sounds every bit the enthusiastic old hippie, genuinely excited by the concepts he is spinning." (Publishers Weekly)
I enjoyed listening to The 4 Agreements because one is always enclined to blame others for your state in /of life when really you need to take a long hard look at yourself. It's very hard to face the facts.
I think this is good if you're looking for some direction or happiness in your life and want some simple guidelines and mantras. It was an interesting, thoughtful, and relaxing listen.
Great lessons on why we are here on the planet and how best to have a successful journey. Excellent teaching on the negative forces of the spirit world and how to navigate on a moment by moment basis.. Valuable knowledge.
I have been listening to this book for weeks and it's had a profound impact on my perception, relationships, and self talk. The prayers at the end with flute music in the background is so inspirational and moving. Thank you!!
don Miguel Ruiz conveys the beautiful beliefs of the Toltec in his book. Everyone in our world would benefit from this book.
The audio is does not follow book word for word and at times makes it difficult to follow but the material is so rich that you go beyond that fir the most part
A must read for finding a sense of peace in this life. No conflict with any faith I know of, in fact it meshes with them.
"Tools For Life"
This is a brilliant book with an excellent audio edition. It describes four simple agreements to make with yourself, which allow you to increase your control over how you experience your life: 1) Be impeccable with your word; 2) Don't take anything personally; 3) Don't make assumptions; 4) Always do your best. Simple does not mean easy! Don Miguel's book helps the reader have the power of these agreements and use it. Peter Coyote's reading is a delight which helps the learning process. This is timeless work that can be referred to time and again. I found the Four Agreements even more powerful than Stephen Covey's Seven Habits, which is saying a lot. And just like the Seven Habits, the Four Agreements are powerful in all aspects of your life including family, work and leisure time.
"An interesting perspective"
I was initially put off by the rather religious stance at the beginning of the book. I decided to stick to it and keep listening. I was rewarded as the book laid out some useful principles:
1. Be Impeccable With Your Words.
2. Don't Take Anything Personally.
3. Don't Make Assumptions.
4. Always Do Your Best.
Simple, not always easy to practice but resonates with me!
A wonderful book
I love the prayers at the end, they are for people from all religions or not, and i feel connected to the universe by listening to this chapter daily.
Thank you to Mr Ruiz
"great read, read great"
Such an easy listen. this is the 4th time I've listened and I'll keep listening until I get that inner peace. Very much recommended.
"New Dreams are possible"
I loved this book. It was really inspiring. It really makes you aware of the power of words .
"Better than expected."
I was a little sceptical, but I actually quite enjoyed listening to this audiobook. There is no particular religious bias to the teaching, but it was interesting and made complete sense.
This is an audiobook that I will re-listen to at some time.
"a lot to learn... and I'll do my best to"
really good book. gave me lots to think about. I'll enjoy putting it into practice
narrator excellent. thoroughly enjoyed the book definitely one to listen to many times most insightful
I was introduced to this book about 15 years ago and it literally changed my life. Over the years I have tried to incorporate those four agreements into my life and I can honestly say that it has helped me to manage the ups and downs of life in a much more peaceful manner.
Coming back to it now all these years later I can still say that this is a truly powerful book.
The narrator reads it with such a wonderfully temperate voice and pace. Making it easy to listen to while doing almost anything and allowing it to sink into the psyche very easily.
I did have an issue with the use of the phrase "Black Magic" in such a negative term, especially as it is repeated so often throughout the book. As the author reminds us in the book, "The Word" is very powerful, and reinforcing the word "Black" in such a negative way was very uncomfortable for me.
Overall though, this book is one to have and to pass on to as many people as possible.
"Fantastic thought provoking perspectives"
Was looking for a book that could open my mind to new thoughts and new perspectives after reading amazing The Way of The Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman.
It's sad to say that there are very few books out there that can really change ur life, despite the bold claims of many, but this one and the aforementioned Way of The Peaceful Warrior (at least for me) really did contribute to a notable change in my life.
If you find you are spending your days thinking "there's got to be more to life than this, you're right!" And these 2 books could help you see that possibility.
I would recommend this book to anyone dealing with depression, low confidence, or a dissatisfaction in life.
I listen to this book frequently. The lessons, though simple in concept are profound.
