It's ok. Nothing I didn't know before or could figure out on my own. if you need something to start with it is good but you'll need something more to get over a really bad break up.
The author fails to connect any kind of real practical knowledge to real life situations, and all of his methods are based on personal experience he doesn't diagnose the problem instead he tells you to man up and accept life, although that is true, the author failed to describe the human nature, if you really want to learn more about how to handle a breakup watch an episode from the school of life on YouTube I promise you, you will learn more than this book another good channel to watch is charisma on demand, good luck !
For an hour, its brief and straight to the point.
Yes I would be willing to try another book
Yes i think it will be a benefit if someone is in the situation
Instead of going about the internet to find answers this is better as it gives the general and straight forward ideas and insight on getting over a breakup. This book is a start but you have to continue and put in the work and remember it takes time.
Much Read, Very Learn, Wow
Appropriately short and to the point, it is worth the hour you will spend listening to it if you are going through a bad breakup. It will also give you a chance to re-listen to the audio book and let what Andrew has to say sink in.
You most likely will not magically feel better in one hour, but you will have the knowledge to take the right steps in getting over a breakup after listening.
I downloaded 3 books on break ups. All were around the same length (around an hour). This is the only one which is truly helping with the situation. This is also the only book I was able to listen to fully. The other two I turned off within the first 10 mins. I did not know the authors background going into this read. Finding out he is also in San Diego made me somehow more connected to the Author. I feel Andrew understands where I am at. Unfortunately my ex and I are still sharing an Audible account during this time frame. I have been listened to the book about 4 times since downloading it and allowed myself scream in the car, cry, not turn to the dark side with this valuable advice. The best couple of dollars I have spent in the last couple years. Sanity it priceless.
Let's face it, break ups are hard, you need to remind yourself of this stuff, especially in those moments when you falter in the commitments you made to yourself. Or during those moments when getting out of bed is too hard.
Andrew goes to great lengths not to excuse your bad behavior, but make sure you know that some actions will make your recovery process harder.
This stuff takes time, and the book goes to great lengths to remind you that that's ok. The goal is to get through it as fast as we can, but that doesn't mean a day or a week. It means months (or years) of effort.
I was ready to take a break from life when I ran into this book. I didn't feel like maintaining all of the healthy habits I had accumulated throughout the last year. Andrew helped me see how unhelpful that attitude would have been.
If you think you're too manly to read this book, think again.
Andrew really hit home here with an exceptionally great book and advice. I follow everything this guy puts out.
