Publisher's summary

This long-awaited second book by renowned spiritual teacher Eckhart Tolle goes deeper into the teachings so eloquently and clearly expressed in his first book, The Power of Now.

These short, clear entries are organized into ten topic clusters ranging from "Stillness and Silence" and "Beyond the Thinking Mind" to "Relationships" and "Suffering and the End of Suffering." Whether listened to individually or in topic clusters, these entries take on a rare transformative power.

While its message is broad and profound, Stillness Speaks is also highly practical. Eckhart Tolle shows us how to be with another in a relationship that can contain and weather all things, how to sit with a dying person, where to find wisdom, how to free ourselves of guilt, and how to control our constant stream of thoughts. Underneath the words, and in the spaces between them, we find the power of stillness, a vibrantly alive state existing only in the present moment. Stillness Speaks draws upon the essence of all spiritual traditions, offering a message that is both ancient and contemporary, filled with timely and powerful wisdom.

So does silence

Any additional comments?

This book is really slow, but that's the point, to slow the mind, to awaken the stillness inside you. I wouldn't buy this book as your first Eckhart Tolle book. As always Eckhart doesn't disappoint.

Love this book!

I loved how the book is divided into short chapters, giving the reader time to reflect on each chapter before moving on. I loved Eckhart's voice (since I was listening to the audio version). I loved Eckhart's message. He truly is an enlightened being!

The Best Tolle yet

This is an excellent book. I find Tolle's voice very soothing. It is the most clear and pure description of how to take life as it comes. I highly recommend listening to this this book which seems much more appropriate to the subject. Hence,I'd rather listen to Stillness Speaks than read it.

One of the most important books in my entire life

Someone gave me the idea that this was maybe his best book to date, and furthermore that a great way to interact with this book was to get the audio version through audible so I did .. I have listened to this book probably 8x or so in the last six months. I really enjoy the audio version I can hear the deep stillness coming out with his voice and it's just really fantastic all around. if you're interested in Eckhart Tolle his ideas this is a fantastic book, & I really recommend the audio. Especially if you're an audio kind of person like myself.

Truth that is deep and meaningful

Eckhart is the prophet of truth in our modern world. He speaks the truth and he makes the hidden and arcane truth of all religions and spiritual traditions more accessible and relevant for our modern world. This book is for advanced students but the truth is truth.
