Interesting Philosophy

What did you love best about Secrets of the Immortal?

The author really stepped outside the box and it seemed as if he was talking from memory alot and I don't think he went by the actual text of his book but probably used it as a guideline, he is very genuince and you can tell he believes what he is saying.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Secrets of the Immortal?

The advanced form of forgiveness.

A Comfort for Serious Course in Miracles Students

A truly serious Course in Miracles student will greatly appreciate this audio book. Not only is it a comfort, but it also encourages exploration and exposition of the more difficult Course passages. So far, I've listened to it six times in the last two weeks.

Gary's style is, well, "himself." And that's the beauty and the most pertinent part of it in my opinion. Course students are far too hard on themselves (including me) because we've learned to understand that we are wrong about everything we see. This leads to the ego telling us that because we are wrong about everything, there's a certain amount of shame involved (or ought to be). Gary is completely and beautifully shameless! He makes it ok for us to be as well.

I also appreciate him taking the time to explain the meaning behind the experiences that people will have when doing the Course. For instance, the meaning of the experience of revelation as well as periods of dizziness/vertigo. I have had these experiences, but did not understand the full significance of them. I didn't understand that perhaps I was further along than I realized, which helped me not to be too hard on myself, but rather to relax and just keep on forgiving and getting that ego undone.

Gary shows himself to be a true ally for Course students. As radical as the Course is, and as much as it promises to lead us to, we need all the help we can get. This audio book is very good help.

Down To Earth

I think Gary Renard did a spectacular job on this book considering he had to condense a huge idea into a smaller versioned audio book.

The book is "deep" in thought. You can not do anything else while listening to him or you will miss the whole idea.

Emphasis on Jesus & God

I had hoped this book would discuss spiritualism - topics including reincarnation, communication with the dead, spirit guides etc., unfortunately, it does not. It consistently refers to the author's other book "A Course In Miracles" which seems to heavily emphasizes a renewed approach to the teachings of Jesus. You may perhaps find it interesting in this regard, but if you are in search of a "Sylvia Browne" type book, you will find little, if anything, of interest in this book.

A helpful resource for the spiritually curious and ACIM students

I highly recommend Gary Renard's work in general- written and audio books. I have found his books very useful in clarifying the message of A Course in Miracles, so that when I return back to the ACIM text I have a much cleared understanding. I would say his work can be helpful for anyone, and might be especially appreciated by the spiritually curious, those looking to better understand the workings of their mind, and those looking for a deeper understanding of the Course.

This audio was enjoyable in that it felt like a look behind the scenes into Gary's personal experiences, in addition to presenting the Course related material- including the importance of forgiveness, the reinterpretation of the cruxifixction, and the material world as an illusory projection of mind.
