Absolutely Wonderful

The concepts in this book are life changing, and that goes for all relationships, not just with my kids. My husband and I loved listening to this together. So grateful for those who choose to share their knowledge with the world! I agree 100% with most everything said in this book!

Loved this book!

I recommend this book to parents struggling with anxiety, aggression or general stress. I have all three in my daily life and believe that the steps and stories in this book are going to help me stay calm so that I can have a better relationship with my daughter and husband. I listened to it once and plan on listening to it again. I also plan on getting a hard copy for the "reflection questions" at the end of each chapter.

A great approach

Much more than a book about "screaming". Every parent should read this book even if just to reinforce the positive tools you already knowingly deploy.

Phenomenal book

This was phenomenal i finished it in one day AND may I add I do not read nor do I even audible read. This book peaked my interest from an instagram ad I started listening and it was just great. He answered so many questions I had and ones I didn’t know I had until he was speaking about different topics. The book wasn’t slow paced to start and there was never a dull moment. I felt he was straight forward from his point of view and very matter of factly. Btw for the younger moms I’m 29 very much a pretty and hot and again very much not a reader but this was worth it.. so if you’re having a cleaning day like me throw your head phones and just open your mind to another way of parenting !

Best of three

I just finished listening to three books on parenting; Six-Point Plan for Raising Happy, Healthy Children; Wonderful Ways to Love a Child; and this book, ScreamFree Parenting. Of the three, I found this one to be the best. It was presented in a logical manner, and the author does a good job at providing evidence for his arguments.

While I would have liked a bit more rigor in his arguments backed by scientific studies, I understand his intent wasn't a scientific article but a book for a more general audience. Still, I enjoyed the fact that he made an attempt at providing more evidence for his thoughts just than gut instinct and common sense, (which was all the other two books offered.)

I find the topic of parenting to be a difficult one to research as most is opinion. However, this text did a good job at trying to balance thoughts with evidence and the result is a good book on parenting.

Great Advice for any parents!

Great antidotes. Each approach the author shares real life stories how the principles can be used.Somme of of it I felt I already knew but I personally found lots of great nuggets of information. The real focus is on having control of yourself and being responsible for your reactions towards your kids. Loving and caring for yourself first for the betterment of all around you . Must read. I'll listen to this one a few times again I'm sure this year as I take ownership of the ideas expressed in this audio book.

3 Boys, all with their own personality

Loved it. Wish I listened to this 8 years ago. Oldest boy (born July '08), suffers from diagnosed anxiety, currently going through counseling, was already removed from one school, has seen his father (aged 30 at this time) become an out of control adolescent when he or his younger brothers were not perfect angels. This book in one week has changed this little boys perspective on his father. I, being the father, told him I was reading this book and that things were going to change, and boy have they (pun intended). The author was great, he read it very well, and did not skip anything (at the end you'll understand what I mean). I will be rereading this soon.

highly recommended

I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old and found that this book gave both good General guidance and some specific action steps. I have been able to put the tools to use and have been happy with the results

goes from good to great.

If you could sum up ScreamFree Parenting in three words, what would they be?

I enjoyed the first hour or so but felt it was little trivial and not really educating.
The rest of the book far exceeded my expectations and the ending left me full of many useful insights.
I learnt a few nontrivial facts about parenting and I liked the examples though I think there should have been more examples.
Inspired by the book I got the courage to do something I avoided for a few months as I feared of hurting my child: I decided to teach my one and half year old kid to fall a sleep without my presence. As I kept my cool and showed a lot of empathy during the process I felt we got connected in a way we didn't experience before.
I was able to get my child to respect and try hard to achieve the task instead of having to cry for a few days until she has no option but to comply with the new situation.
The book made me more aware of my needs as a person and feel good about fulfilling my needs even on expense of my family knowing that I will take care of them better once I feel good.
