Publisher's summary

"Less is more" - or, more specifically, the less you have to do, the more life you have to live. Efficiency expert Ari Meisel details his "Less Doing" philosophy, which will streamline your life, and make everything easier. In business and our personal lives, it often seems as if the only way to get more done is by putting in more time - more hours at the office, more days running errands. But what if there were a way that we could do less, and free up more time for the things and people we love? If this sounds like what you need, Ari Meisel - TEDx speaker, efficiency consultant, and achievement architect - has the program for you.

In Less Doing, More Living, Meisel explores the fundamental principles of his “Less Doing” philosophy, educating the listener on: Optimizing workflow with 21st-century apps and tools. Creating an “external brain” in the Cloud to do all of your “lower” thinking - like keeping track of appointments, meetings, and ideas. How to use technology to live a paper-free life. The three fundamentals of wellness - fitness, sleep, and nutrition - and technological approaches to improving these areas of life. And so much more! This audiobook will give listeners new tools and techniques for streamlining their workload, being more efficient in their day-to-day activities, and making everything in life easier.

Empowering Efficiency and Empathy: A Masterpiece!

Ari Meisel has once again proven himself as a maestro of productivity and life optimization with "Less Doing, More Living." As a loyal reader of his previous works, I can confidently say that this book might just be his "magnum opus".

Although some of the tech systems discussed may seem a tad dated, considering this book was originally published in 2014, the timeless principles they embody are as relevant as ever. Meisel's adept guidance transcends the specifics of any given technology, focusing instead on the underlying principles that empower individuals to streamline their lives and amplify their effectiveness.

Meisel's approach is refreshingly direct, packing each page with invaluable insights that left me eager to implement his strategies immediately. From streamlining workflows to mastering time management, "Less Doing, More Living" offers a treasure trove of practical advice that anyone can apply.

What truly sets this book apart is its emphasis on fundamental principles. Meisel doesn't just offer quick fixes or temporary solutions; he delves deep into the core concepts that drive lasting change. By emphasizing fundamentals such as outsourcing, batching, and optimizing, he equips readers with the tools they need to transform their lives in profound and sustainable ways.

I particularly appreciate Meisel's emphasis on empathy and mindfulness amidst the whirlwind of efficiency. He reminds us that the ultimate goal of optimization isn't just to do more but to live better—to reclaim our time and energy for the things that truly matter.

In "Less Doing, More Living," Meisel has crafted a masterpiece that transcends the bounds of mere productivity literature. It's a blueprint for reclaiming control over our lives, empowering us to live with intention and purpose. Whether you're a seasoned productivity enthusiast or a newcomer to the world of optimization, this book is an absolute must-read. Outstanding doesn't even begin to cover it!

Very practical and informative

Great book with useful tips. Some overlap with the "Four Hour Week" - but this book contained some new information as well. We'll worth the short read!

Cliff Notes verrsion of 4 Hour Work Week

This is a great hands on application of most of the same principles in Tim Ferriss' 4 Hour Work Week. The difference is, this is short enough to sit down and start implementing in a day.

Not great

I'm sure these are useful tips to some, but as other reviewers have mentioned, it reads as a list of services, which is not what I expected (at least not in such a large quantity). Many of these services are pay services, which is fine, but I doubt I'll end up making use of them because I don't think they're worth the cost for me. The ones that are free, such as Evernote and IFTTT, I already knew about prior to reading this book, so personally I did not get much new information.

I had a few issues with the narrator, who mispronounced several words and occasionally used an inflection that did not match what the sentence clearly called for. (Usually this sort of thing does not jump out at me.)

Still, it's a quick read/listen, and worth the $1.95 I paid for it.

Lots of information-hard to write everything

This is definitely a good idea but I found it frustrating not to be referred to a print list of the websites.
