This book along with the app has had the biggest impact on my life than any other book I have read ( and I have read a lot) !!
"Get some headspace"
Andy Puddicombe is the star that shines above the blue skies.
If you are having trouble with depression, or trouble sleeping, this could be your answer.
Andy has a personality and a way with words that helps you to understand although the bad stuff will always be there, it doesn't have to control youf life.
Andy uses his own life's exleriences to walk you through mindfulness.
His journey as a trainee monk takes you gently with him on his learning path as he seeks to quieten his mind and come to terms with past experiences.
Andy does not preach, he doesn't say you have to do this or that, he explains using analogies and stories how to manage feelings of depression and says there will be relapses but using mindfulness, these can be dealt with.
Each to their own; for me, Andy seems to make sense. He is not pretentious and is easy to listen to. I'm glad I found him.
This audio book has been a revelation. I listened to it at a time when I was deeply distressed and it really made a difference. Developing mindfulness is an essential life skill and I'm sure in some cases a life saver!
"Good introduction to meditation"
This audiobook provides an excellent non-mystical basis for meditation, more akin to helping your outlook on life and helping in specific areas (sleep, eating etc). A number of interesting anecdotes along the way too.
Having been a subscriber to the Headspace app I came across this book by chance and I'm glad I did....its a great book with many useful teachings and anecdotes detailing the authors journey. highly recommended for anyone wishing to learn more about being mindful and how to create sufficient headspace in today's busy world.
"Wired to the moon!"
Found the book really interesting and so simple to understand! Going to give it a go as anxiety been the pain of my life!
A good book with interesting insights to mindfullness. Useful for listening in the car or training.
I enjoyed listening to this almost autobiographical account of one man's journey in meditation. There were some good pointers. I think I would purchase another more technical guide (less anecdotal) to support Andy's story. But, absolutely no regrets. Easy listening.
"A good no-nonsense guide to meditation"
No new-age mumbo-jumbo. Good, straightforward advice and instruction on how to meditate and how to be mindful. I'm now a daily meditator and it's made a world of difference.
"Very good. Will recommend."
Provided some new and beneficial concepts even though I'm quite experienced in these concepts. Will listen to it again.
