    What did you love best about Full Catastrophe Living?

    This is a good primer on the concept of mindfulness as a stress reduction tool. Is brief and concise enough to give you a basic understanding of what it is all about. You won't come away an expert or perhaps even at best, only a dabbler but it does a good enough job to make you want to learn more.

    If you have any form of emotional or stress related problem or have a family member who is going through such troubles, this is a must. If you just want to teach your self to keep your calm under most circumstances in this crazy world, it is also very helpful.

    If you could sum up Full Catastrophe Living in three words, what would they be?

    Jon Kabat-Zinn explains how to begin to practice mindfulness and tells reasons why this practice is beneficial.


    Have you listened to any of Jon Kabat-Zinn’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    Currently I am listening to Jon's Mindfulness Pain Reduction. This is my favorite since I need knee replacements and pain is constant. I have been able to reduce my pain medication.

    "coping with stress through meditation"

    If you want to learn more about how to cope with stress via meditation then this is a good book for you. The book was written for people who have never practiced mindfulness and meditation before. It is not for people looking for a “quick fix” for their daily problems. The techniques taught by Dr. Kabat-Zinn are intended to be practiced everyday and eventually you will improve your ability to cope through relaxation techniques.

    "Treasure, For Sure"

    I have danced with meditation for years...on and off. Mostly off. So this book comes as a welcome milestone in my experience. I have a far better understanding of and have received excellent instruction through this reading. More than I have learned from myriad sources in the past. I now experience a consistent, daily practice. Thank you, JKZ!

    The most comprehensive and accessible practical guide to mindful living I have ever read. Extremely intelligent, warm-hearted, and deeply human view, acknowledging the beauty of our imperfections and opening doorways to change. Loved every page of it and now using a lot of practical exercises offered in the book on a daily basis.

    "A fantastic insight into meditation"

    This is a must read for anyone that is interested in meditation whether you are new to the subject or you have been practicing for years. Jon Kabat-Zinn covers almost every aspect of meditation and the benefits that it can bring to our lives. He has a fantastic voice which is easy to listen to. He also has a guided meditation series which covers the meditations that he speaks of in this book which can be found on Amazon. If you enjoyed this book you should definitely give this series a go. He also has meditations on Audible although I have not listened to it yet. I would highly recommend this book.
