Publisher's summary

Within the tracks of this transformational audio download set, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer reveals how to change the self-defeating thinking patterns that have prevented you from living at the highest levels of success, happiness, and health. Even though you may know what to think, actually changing those thinking habits that have been with you since childhood might be somewhat challenging. If I changed, it would create family dramas . . . I'm too old or too young . . . I'm far too busy and tired . . . I can't afford the things I truly want . . . It would be very difficult for me to do things differently . . . and I've always been this way . . . may all seem to be true, but they're in fact just excuses. So the business of modifying habituated thinking patterns really comes down to tossing out the same tired old excuses and examining your beliefs in a new and truthful light.

In this groundbreaking work, Wayne presents a compendium of conscious and subconscious crutches employed by virtually everyone, along with ways to cast them aside once and for all. You'll learn to apply specific questions to any excuse, and then proceed through the steps of a new paradigm. The old, habituated ways of thinking will melt away as you experience the absurdity of hanging on to them.

You'll ultimately realize that there are no excuses worth defending, ever, even if they've always been part of your life-and the joy of releasing them will resonate throughout your very being. When you eliminate the need to explain your shortcomings or failures, you'll awaken to the life of your dreams. Excuses . . . Begone!

Loved it!

I'm a huge Wayne Dyer fan and have many of his books in audio form. It makes a wonderful solution to drive time listening. I focus on something positive and lose the road rage. I love his reading style because he sounds so conversational and not like many authors who don't seem to know their own writings. I highly recommend it.

I read a review that commented that he read to fast. I disagree and guess that's a matter of taste. I would also say that one of the great things about an audio book is that you can rewind if you don't get it the first time. I usually listen to my "positive thinking" books more than once because I always seem to get more with repeated listening!

really helpful

If you could sum up Excuses Begone! in three words, what would they be?

Wise. compassionate, inspiring.

Dyer continues on his challenge to help us all wake up and realize more abundant lives in the many manifestations of abundance. I think this is one of his best. If I could change one thing, I would have given it a different title; when I try to reccomend this book, friends think it is going to be more judgemental than it is. It is the opposite of judgemental, helping us all to love ourselves better where we are now giving us a more hopeful energy for our future.

excellent book for change

This is an excellent book for implementing personal change and developing inner tranquility. I have read several of Wayne Dyer's other books and found this model of living transformed my life.

A valuable purchase and addition to my life...

The title says it, and the content backs it up. If you have read Dr. Dyer's other books, this one gives the maturity you would expect from a man of his experience and wisdom. He is very good at getting out the bad in your life (and head) and clearing out space for the good to come in. I highly recommend this book to anyone that wants to make positive changes in their life.

I gave it four stars because I am not a fan of his reading, and I think another reader of the audio could have made this even better.

Critics Begone!

Dr. Dyer does it again with an excellent narrative on how to eliminate excuses from one's life. The book starts a little slowly but begins to pick up by part two. By the third section, Dyer has really found his groove in explaining his Excuses Begone! paradigm.

Dr.Dyer is an excellent orator but his performance is affected by a somewhat poorer sound quality than that found on his other recordings. If the listener can get past this aspect, the experience will be enriching and should add value to his/her life. Cheers. KJ
