Publisher's summary

The rules for living in the real world have changed, because the world we live in has changed. Much of the conventional wisdom the last generation has passed on just doesn't apply like it once did. If you want to win, and win big, and, more importantly, keep what you work so hard for, you need a crystal-clear view of how the real world works - not how you wish it worked, but how it actually works.

In Life Code: The New Rules for Winning in the Real World, six-time New York Times number-one best-selling author Dr. Phil McGraw abandons traditional thinking and tells you the ugly truth about the users, abusers, and overall "bad guys" we all have in our lives. He also reveals the secrets of how they think and how they get to and exploit you and those you love. You'll gain incredible insight into these negative people, which he refers to as BAITERs (Backstabbers, Abusers, Imposters, Takers, Exploiters, Reckless), and you'll gain the tools to protect yourself from their assaults. Dr. Phil gives you the "Evil Eight" identifiers so you can see them coming from a mile away, as well as their "Secret Playbook", which contains the "Nefarious 15" tactics they use to exploit you and take what is yours mentally, physically, socially, and professionally. Life Code then focuses on you and your playbook, which contains the "Sweet 16" tactics for winning in the real world.

Edgy, controversial and sometimes irreverent, Dr. Phil again abandons convention to prepare you to claim what you deserve and claim it now. You take flying lessons to learn to fly, swimming lessons to learn to swim, and singing lessons to learn to sing. So, why not take winning lessons to learn to win?

Something Unexpected

Would you consider the audio edition of Dr. Phil McGraw: Life Code to be better than the print version?

I think as readers we need both versions, the audio to listen to over and over until we get it. The print form allows us to mark and grow with our book marks.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dr. Phil McGraw: Life Code?

Understanding that things I have thought for YEARS someone was finally saying it.

Have you listened to any of Phil McGraw’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first but depending on the topics it might not be my last because I do enjoy his TV talk show

What insight do you think you’ll apply from Dr. Phil McGraw: Life Code?

Its ok for me to not give people the benefit of the doubt and that it's ok to truly see people for what they are.

Life changing

Dr Phil says in the beginning of the book that it is a life changing code and he is right. I'm not much for "self help" books, but this one is actually helpful. It has real info about real life. Anybody can get something out of it no matter your age, gender, or what you do for a living. I would even recommend this book to high schoolers, maybe even pre teens. If you try this book, you won't regret it. Get ready for a lot of inspiration and a huge boost in self confidence. I struggle with debilitating anxiety and depression as a result of that. This book is helpful with that as well, in my opinion. I fully believe my life has been changed, or atleast made easier. I think I would like to shake dr phil's hand!

Even if you aren't a fan of dr Phil, try this book out. It won't be a waste of time

Eye-Opening Perspective of Manipulating People

We all have those people in our lives. The ones that know how to work us just the right way to get us to do things they want leaving us feeling taken advantage of. With this book, Dr. Phil sheds light on what goes on in the minds of these people. And identifies keys to look out for to not get taken advantage of in life. At some point, you realize everything provided is common sense. And some of the descriptions of these people are really over the top (best saved for REALLY bad people). But it's interesting to see such common behaviors pointed out for so many people. Listening to Dr. Phil's descriptions even sheds a little light on your own behavior and maybe things that you yourself do that may be unintentionally hurtful to others in your life. He said he wrote this book to let his grand kids know about how people out there really can be. For them to be aware and not naive walking through life. I think reading through what he has to say, with it all in one place, is very eye-opening because it puts together a bunch of little pieces of things that you already know and gives you a good understanding of people in general.

Direct, brain provoking and mind engaging book

I enjoyed the book. Dr. Phil direct and honest approach gives the reader/listener points on what and how things evolve in one life. Reflecting on people interactions and psychology, allowing one to be a better person by bringing about change. Change when it comes to one’s engaging approach when dealing with another person. Dr. Phil unconventional method is in my thought process, is a reality check.

If one could deal with truth and willing to be open-minded, then one will have the chance to learn. I highly recommend this book. An Alpha approach to getting on top of life achievements.

Dr. Phil is the BOSS!!!

This book/audiobook is LIFE CHANGING. Not only has it opened my eyes and detailed/defined the "doormat" subconscious reality I have been dealing with/accepting my whole life (unfortunately), but I now have a much more clear understanding as to why it has and is still happening. In all honesty, I used to think that Dr. Phil was a "Crock-O-Crap" and fake doctor (which was most likely driven by the negative "MSM" I have witnessed against him), but after listening to his book I have gained an astronomical amount of respect for him. If you are fed up with how others are affecting your life and want to learn how to combat/remove/deal with such people, then this is the book to read/listen to. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars (it deserves a million). Thank you Dr. Phil (aka Dr. Bossman!).
