Publisher's summary

In Dad is Fat, stand-up comedian Jim Gaffigan, who’s best known for his legendary riffs on Hot Pockets, bacon, manatees, and McDonald's, expresses all the joys and horrors of life with five young children - everything from cousins ("celebrities for little kids") to toddlers’ communication skills ("they always sound like they have traveled by horseback for hours to deliver important news"), to the eating habits of four-year-olds ("there is no difference between a four-year-old eating a taco and throwing a taco on the floor"). Dad is Fat is sharply observed, explosively funny, and a cry for help from a man who has realized he and his wife are outnumbered in their own home.

A must fo Gaffigan fans. An entertaining, touching story. I wish the book was longer.

Extremely FUNNY

I loved this book. Jim Gaffigan is one of my favorite comedians and this book is taken from his stand-up acts. His narration is perfect, and extremely funny!!! Great light read

Hilarious!

Where does Dad Is Fat rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's in the top ten for sure.

What does Jim Gaffigan bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I like that he reads it himself. I'm a fan of his comedy so him reading it made it better.

Any additional comments?

Jim Gaffigan hits the nail on the head on raising children. I laughed out loud so many times!

Not quite what I expected but still good.

I didn't bother reading the description at all. I thought the book would be more along the lines of Mindy Kaling's Or Amy Pohler's book. It's a patenting book and even thought I am not a parent I enjoyed the book...

Sweet. Honest. Hilarious.

I've been listening to Jims standup for a while so I had high expectations for this book. Jim did not disappoint. I love his view of his family and his general laid back view of life. He helped me realize those stressful kid moments are not so bad. It was nice getting to know Jim and his family a little more. I'll be reading the next one too!

So funny!

Jim Gaffigan narrates perfectly. I am telling every dad I know to get this book. The stories are well paced with just enough edgy and cuteness combined.

Very funny and entertaining

Gaffigan does a wonderful job walking through the different stages of parenthood, even pre-parenthood. He is able to keep his comedy clean without comprising any of the jokes.
The only downside was there were a few points where it seemed like he was winded or tired, and instead of stopping, he powered through it.
I recommend this to everyone. You don't need to be a parent to enjoy this book.

Good

Good storyteller. Humor, but geared toward younger parents. I do not have kids and still enjoyed this book plenty. Solid
