I wanted to get back into cycling since we live in the country with bike trails and roads to explore. It has been many years and I wanted a basic resource for information about cycling, so I could read up on the sport. I listened to the samples of several books and this one seemed to fit all my criteria: good information, credible sources, a good narrator who would be easy to listen to and an author who knows his stuff! Let me tell you, the author definitely knows his stuff. This book was excellent, it took me from the basics of cycling into more advanced knowledge. This book has become my go to source. I have also purchased a hard copy version so I have it with me, earmarked and highlighted for my own knowledge.

To say that this audiobook is thorough would be an understatement. From choosing the proper equipment, to getting in the right mental state to ride, to overcoming fear and self doubt, this book gives you more tools than you ever thought you needed to be successful in cycling. It profiles successful cyclists, gives detailed information on the best exercises to improve cycling performance, and alerts you to common pitfalls that even the most hardcore athletes can suffer. This book is informative to the extreme, but it stays on topic and relates it all back to the goal of enjoying the sport in whatever form you choose. Casual bike riders will enjoy this book just as much as the experienced cyclist.
Overall, this book gives insight into a sport that is loved by many, yet unknown by many as well. After listening, my interest in cycling has increased, and my motivation to use it as a form of exercise has definitely gone up. Very well done.

I'm like one in a million who never learned to ride a bicycle, but I watch Cycling on television occasionally and always wonder what it takes for them to do that for miles and miles and not get worn out. Now I know and those of you who DO do Cycling can learn how, too, thanks to this book. It teaches you the specific exercises and nutritional diets to follow in order to become the best bicycle rider you can be, whether it's for sport like on television or just for your own leisure. No more getting tired riding that bicycle to work, the park, or wherever! Mr. McCloud tells you what you need to do to keep up the energy to ride.
If you have the Internet and YouTube then you might find your wasting your time and dollars on this. If your a first time rider there might be a little more useful info in here but you can have all these tips and many more with visuals and reasons behind the techniques delivered from pro riders on YouTube channels like "GCN" global cycling network
Cycling also known as biking is a great and fun activity and a practical mode of transport. Cycling is a great sport as it provides a powerful form of cardiovascular exercise and it strengthens core muscles as well as your legs. Bicycles are a convenient way of transport as they are easy to park and maneuver than cars. After gaining weight I decide to start cycling as I had a bicycle just lying around and hence decided to buy a book that will guide me. This book has been fantastic as it has helped me become prepared with the right equipments. One needs to have a helmet, proper footwear, the saddle, reflective clothes, weather gears, hydration pack and the bike. I have also gained knowledge on stretching, warm- up, and cool down techniques. This book also enlightened me on how to be a better cyclist. I have already recommended the book to my friends who are cyclist and I therefore highly recommend it! Thanks Ace

I've been looking for a comprehensive beginners guide to cycling for awhile and I'm glad that finally I've found the one! This book is absolutely amazing, it provides great narration on ways to improve your cycling skill as a beginner. I would highly recommend this title.
What I liked best about "Cycling: Bicycling Made Easy, was the last chapter of the book "Inspirational Biking Stories." I feel, reading about the greats of cycling, Lance Armstrong,Greg LeMond, and Marshall Taylor, gives those who are serious about making biking a sport, is 100% inspirational. I mean they had set backs, but they got back up, and started pedaling again.
Since this book is basically a self-help book, there were no actual characters. Unless, you would like to count the author Ace McCloud or narrator Joshua Mackey? If so, I think they both did great.
When Joshua Mackey narrates a book, no matter what type of book it is, he brings the author's words to life. He reads the words with excitement and, sometimes, I detect a note of feeling. Of course, that depends on what is being talked about.
The most important thing that I learned from Cycling: Bicycling Made Easy is from Chapter 6 "Mental Strength Techniques." It's a strategy or technique, but a statement. I just think it is something to take away from the book that you can use in your everyday life, "Personal honesty can help you achieve the results you want and drop methods that aren't getting you anywhere." It really gives a person something to think about.
I really enjoyed this audio. The narrator is excellent and it is filled with great strategies from beginning to end. What helped me the most was the nutrition, workout, and mental strategies sections. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to know how to perform better on their bike.

McCloud shows how to choose proper helmet, footwear and reflective and waterproof clothing. But most important is customise your bicycle for your high and how to setting your saddle properly. Cushioning seat is very comfy and useful for those who prefer long ride.
“Cycling” contains professional advice for everybody. Ideal tip for start is to warm-up technique like light aerobic, then dynamic stretch, crunches and also cool-down techniques. McCloud offers a lot of valuable exercises that helps you protect your body against injuries and relax your muscles. Also very challenging is to know how to fix a flat. I always have a problem with that and now know how to do it step by step. I have no idea that can use sandpaper to scratch over the hole!
“Cycling” will improve your skills and shows you how to increase your distance step-by-step. Good idea is to join to a cycling group that can be a great fun and extra motivation. You can learn from experience cyclists and share your tips and opinion. Very valuable is also to learn bicycle laws. You can learn what can be dangerous when riding like car door opening, person or animals suddenly appear in your way, how to behave when cars turning in front of you. Very useful and practical guide that helps you to be a great cyclist and have extremely fun!

I am not a strong cyclist by any means and so I really wanted to learn some ways of improving my technique and building up strength. I found this guide very interesting and really enjoyed learning about all the different exercises that can be done to focus on specific areas that will enhance my cycling ability.

Cycling is a great sport and a fun activity. It is also a method of transportation and I definitely agree with this. I do not own a car and I rely on my bicycle a lot. Very good advices that I can practically apply on a daily basis. I especially liked the stretching exercises - absolutely superb. The light dynamic routine exercises I started to practise them straight away. Always drink something every hour even if you are not thirsty – great advice!
