I have struggled for quite some time, thinking I was never good enough. I got an education, (PhD), I started a couple of business, I volunteered for every organization that could use my skills, and I joined every club that looked like service to others, of little to no avail.. Just when I was about to give up "The Pursuit of Happiness" because I thought there was really no such thing as "Real Happiness." and along came the book, "Be HAPPY". And it changed my life, my thoughts, and my whole make-up. It taught me that I was looking for happiness in All the wrong places. Happiness started with me, because "I AM HAPPINESS", it has been inside of me all along. Thank You Very Much ROBERT, "you Rock"
read 3 chapters our this book 5 years ago during a deep depression and it helped matte to come out of it. fast forward to present day and reading it helped me reaffirm the things i learned and strengthened my conciousness of learning to just BE HAPPY. great book.
I have an undergraduate degree in philosophy and a Master's Degree in Professional Writing from Maharishi University of Management, am author of THE RELUCTANT VEGETARIAN COOKBOOK, and am an avid reader/listener.
I loved this book because it is fun, meaningful, well written. It's advice is practical and do-able.
It starts out like a standard popular treatment of Positive Psychology, but I ditched it when he admitted his devotion to the Course in Miracles. If that doesn't bother you, give it a try. For me, it was a deal-breaker.
"engagement needed to get the most from this book"
In my opinion Robert Holden really knows what hes talking about after working in this field for a long time. There are some real gems of wisdom here, especially his own hypothosis of takling unhappiness. This book is far more than the amalgamation of the many forms scientific and spiritual sources it quotes, as Roberts real understanding gives it so much more. engagement needed to get the most from this substantial works.
I enjoyed this programme and whilst it does lead into other potential areas to buy like so many self help reads, its good value for money and there are a lot of very good practical ideas to help you in a search for happiness.
I would highly recommend
This is really well presented and interesting book - I will be buying more Robert Holden audio books when they become available.
"Now or never"
I like the audio version because you can walk and think. I stop and I write notes into my phone as I go along. My phone is my working memory so that is where I put reminders.
When it was pointed out that most goals are for future hapiness but that our hapiness score will not change when curcumstances change. We need to enjoy sunsets now not when we have money.
Thiking about the 10 good things that happened in the last week. First you think nothing happened but then you remember the miracles.
Now or never
Life goes too quickly
"Your Happiness is a Gift to Others :D"
Entertaining and good advice from Happiness expert Robert Holden, who has been making people happy for years. Full of great humour, and advice, as well as statistical information, as to what really makes us Happy.
It contains such gems , as "your happiness is a gift to others, if only because you are no longer such a miserable bugger." I would highly recommend this book, well worth the credit.
In the same vein as his follow your joy , but much better.
Narrated by the Author.
