at best a feel-good pat-on-the-back

this was a feel-good pat-on-the-back for caretakers. It introduced some principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. however, the actual instructions were sketchy and many of the clinical terms were completely wrong.

100% unhelpful

This was more of a high-level overview of what it might be late if you decided to do ABA on your kid. There was no hopeful points tips instructions nothing.

more

I absolutely loved listening to this book but I definitely think there should be more to it like it was more of a small understanding of where to get started but there was no in depth of how to keep it going or to really get a grasp on what you're doing and how to do it

Abstract overview of ABA, not a how to guide

This book covers a brief overview of ABA and how it is used, but doesn’t provide parents with concrete examples or step by step instructions for handling behaviors and teaching new skills. Anytime we try to alter someone’s routine, there will likely be resistance. ABA is effective when we are prepared for what that resistance will look like and what we need to do in response. It requires knowing what kind of motivators are the most effective for your own child and using them to teach new skills.

Too broad.

When I purchased this and saw the duration, I had a feeling it couldn't contain much. It was mainly common sense and didn't dive into ABA beyond a few concepts and terms.
More examples and stories would have been appreciated.
I thank the author for writing about the topic, and offering it via audible.
