Publisher's summary

Around 6000 BC, a revolution took place on Orkney and the Western Isles of Scotland. An outstanding collection of stone circles, standing stones, round towers, and passage mounds appeared seemingly out of nowhere. And yet many such monuments were not indigenous to Britain, but to regions of the Caspian Sea and the Mediterranean.

Their creators were equally mysterious. Traditions tell of the Papae and Peti, "strangers from afar" who were physically different, dressed in white tunics, and lived aside from the regular population. They were regarded as master astronomers with an uncanny ability to work with enormous stones. But where did these relatively advanced ancient architects come from?

In his seventh book, Scotland's Hidden Sacred Past, best-selling author Freddy Silva examines the Neolithic culture, Gaelic language, and sacred traditions of the Scottish Isles and finds a trail of evidence leading to Sardinia and the Armenian Highlands. His research locates the origin of this misplaced civilization and what prompted its people to choose the furthest reaches of Europe to recreate the masterworks of their original homeland, a plan that included the establishing of Ireland's sacred and megalithic culture.

Among the many topics covered:

  • The true dating of Orkney's sites and their relationship to the Giza pyramids
  • Armenian and Egyptian linguistic roots of sites and places in Orkney and the Hebrides
  • Archaeo-astronomical connections with Orion
  • The origin of the Papae, Peti, and Tuatha de Danaan
  • Armenian and Scythian roots of Ireland's prehistory
  • Sardinian megalithic history and the origin of Scottish duns and brochs
  • The connection between Armenia and Callanish
  • Hidden geometric blueprints linking ancient sites in Orkney, Kilmartin, and Ireland

Authentic recording by the author!

This is an excellent book recorded by author, which makes it a very authentic experience. It would have been enormously helpful, if a pdf file with pictures from the printed version was provided. I wish Mr. Silva would record his other books as well.

Excellently researched trip through the past

After having attended Freddy Silva’s book tour for the Missing Lands, I was quite excited to see this book on audio. It was like having Freddy in my living-room reading it to me.

The amount of knowledge he puts into his books is astounding. This no fly by night, quick look at a place, smash some stories together and then regurgitate it sloppily.

So much research, boots on the ground type, no computer only type, has gone into this book. Trips from many places in Scotland, Armenia, Ireland, and Egypt have gone into the making. Even learning foreign and ancient languages had to be done.

The descriptions of the places bring them to my minds eye in vivid detail. It has stoked the simmering fire to travel to Scotland to see where my ancestors came from and to meet people who live there now and hear from them their takes.

Well researched, well narrated, and wonderfully given to us from Freddy Silva!

Exceptional

A preponderance of research combined with new ideas on the story of us. Freddy’s reading style made it feel as though you were engaged in late evening conversation with a friend. All in all and exceptional audiobook.

Remarkably Written

What a wonderful book to read, and the author narrating the book is such a bonus.
I can’t imagine how much time it took to gather this information together to give such detailed history. It’s about time someone like Freddy Silva came along to give a real look at history and not propaganda.
Highly recommend.

Magical

You are in for a magical experience if you choose to read this book. Several times during this read I suddenly realized the author was, through etymology and other skills not the least of which is intuition, sharing information that was reestablishing a foundation that opened new possibilities of who we really are and why we’re really here. A more gifted weaver of spells cannot be found on Earth IMO.
