Publisher's summary

The more you learn about quantum physics, the more you wonder: who is really creating your reality? Fear not, Dr. Quantum, superhero of spiritual science, is here to help you meet the real creator: You! Join this champion of modern thought (sometimes known by his alter ego, Dr. Fred Alan Wolf) on a quest for truth through the strange reality of quantum physics. Listeners will discover how we participate in the manifestation of each moment, why the universe only seems to be beyond our ability to control, and how we can use the principles of cutting-edge science to truly take charge of our lives. On this four-part journey into understanding, Dr. Quantum will unravel such mysteries as:

  • Your "spiritual elephant", who is really in control of your life from a quantum perspective?
  • Quantum heaven, quantum hell, if we create our own reality, why do things happen that we don't want?
  • "If I have a soul, why doesn't it do something?" How to open a dialogue between your "self" and "soul".
  • Is there one soul, or are there many? A quantum perspective on the nature of self and other.

Whether he's rescuing listeners from confusion about subatomic subtleties or breaking down the barriers between science and spirit, Dr. Wolf sets the standard for bringing quantum physics down to earth and into our lives.

Love this guy!

I fell for Dr. Quantum when he said, “imaginary craziness” in “The Secret”. I love the concepts of thriving in your imperfections and of reincarnating now. And who better to explain these concepts? I wish Fred Alan Wolf were my crazy uncle.

Got key insights about nature of reality

Any additional comments?

This is not a book about quantum physics though the author is a quantum physicist. It's a book about the implications of quantum physics for an understanding of the ultimate nature of reality. The author summarizes experimental results of both quantum physics and neuroscience in a light manner that skips technical discussions. In some cases, his interpretations of quantum physics theory and experimental results might well be contested by other quantum physicists. Dr. Quantum does not hold consensus views -- not that there really is consensus yet among physicists about its interpretation. So, if you're looking for deep understanding of quantum physics, look elsewhere. But I appreciated Dr. Quantum's key insights into the relationship of consciousness and reality. Very worth listening to. It's easy and somewhat enjoyable listening. I listened three times to really understand some of the key insights.

Deep and Humorous

A deep topic that he makes humorous and easily approachable! I'd recommend this book for anyone seeking deeper meaning in their life.

Something to think about

I really enjoyed this audio book. Dr. Wolf is a very vibrant speaker that makes listening to very deep ideas and quantum science very interesting. He builds on the topic very well and repeats key points, which is helpful being on an audio presentation. He may take some getting used to for some listeners, but going past his idiosyncrasies, he does have many good thing to say.

Fred is great to listen too, and could change you.

Yep, Fred has an interesting presentation, but he is not dry. He relates his ideas about physics in more understandable interpretations. Yes he runs on, and would admit it. He is a fun guy and this is a fun book, but the concepts behind all this are really serious and on the leading edge of a new way of thinking about who we are, and what everything is about. Ya have to listen, and I promise you will learn about the quirky mix of quantum physics and the new thought type tone of the message, and you may learn something about yourself and improve yourself. Can you chance it? I think you have to use the credit. Maybe it will be you that changes the world...

Not for a Christian

This was too informal. I was really hoping to learn about Quantum Physics. He talks some about that, but ends up talking about reincarnation. Although it is good to let go of desire, reincarnation is not biblical, and I won't subscribe to it.

This is not Quantum Physics

Ok to download IF you realize that this is one person's view about human spirituality, and NOT actually about any of the qualities or scientific implications of quantum physics.

This book uses a quantum physics vocabulary (vocabulary, mind you, not actual scientist-endorsed interpretations or data) to make speculations about the soul, which is describes in terms of an imaginary elephant. It presents common misreadings of what real quantum physicists call "observation," equating a probabilistic science to a false determinism.

Incredibly disappointing.
I am surprised Audible would advertise this on its front page.

Clown Fear

This is a clowns guide to unspiritual thinking, an educated character with way to many answers. He is the apostate Pat Robertson, humility wrapped around arrogance; Who could buy this but the sophmorically needy.

Misled Rubbish

I bought this book to learn something about how quantum physics relates to *my* reality (as outlined in the description from the publisher). What I got was an annoying, 4h9m, series of bad analogies, bad character parodies, and loose ties to physics of any type. The book can have been one sentence long and skipped all the irritating prattle:

"When life gives you lemons you decide whether to make lemonade."

Perhaps I'm being short-sighted, but can't seem to read/listen between all of Fred Alan Wolf's muttering.

Overacted under-performance

I was all set to like this. I had heard a very interesting interview with Fred Alan Wolf on Insights At the Edge so had high expectations for this audio recording. But for some reason Dr. Wolf seems to have the mistaken impression that he has to ham up his delivery to make it interesting or to live up to his "Dr Quantum" persona. So the delivery was painfully corny to start with but the most disappointing part was the fact that there wasn't much depth to the content. This audio might work for someone who has never been introduced to "New Thought"/ Eastern approaches to spirituality or to the places where those philosophies intersect with science, but it seemed to me that, even if that were the case, there are better introductions to those ideas to be found elsewhere.
