Publisher's summary

Without any fear of repercussion or rejection, Thomas and Sarah lead you through a compelling, never-before-seen exposure of widespread fraud in mainstream and alternative medicine in Defy Your Doctor and Be Healed. This book is meant to be more than just an investigation of fraudulent medicine - it's intended to save your life. It's sure to be provocative as you'll learn much of what you're told or sold by medical "authorities" and the media can be reduced to cleverly devised narratives or pathways for profiteering. As you learn the ins-and-outs, you'll be given the tools and knowledge to take charge of your health with confidence.

As the veteran "health detectives" of Health Wyze Media, Thomas and Sarah have earned enduring reputations for asking tough questions and getting unpopular answers. They are the producers of The Health Wyze Report, a hard, in-depth look at the truth behind today's orthodox and alternative medicine, and The Cancer Report, a documentary about the cancer industry and its alternatives.

Defy Your Doctor and Be Healed is the culmination of five years of in-depth, uncompromising medical research and reporting. Its premise is simple: it approaches standard and alternative medicine from a scientific standpoint, examining their goods and ills. It also asserts that the human body has natural healing abilities and that the answers to most of our health dilemmas are so close to us that we're unable to see them.

A Wealth of Useful Information for your Health.

Where does Defy Your Doctor and Be Healed rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is an excellent book. At over 32 hrs, it contains an incredible amount of information on everything from natural treatments for depression, anxiety, ADHD, parasites, heart disease, high cholesterol and high blood pressure. That is just for starters. It reviews vaccines, SSRIs, and other modern medicines and explains their dangers and side effects. It also traces each individual school shooting back to the psychotropic drugs the shooters were taking. Each shooter was forced to take (Columbine) or taking medication that was known to cause psychosis, violence and suicidal ideation. It also includes a large section on wellness or how to heal and achieve a healthful lifestyle. It is well documented and very interesting. It is an invaluable resource.

The only thing that could make this book better would be an audio table of contents so that you could find the information in this long work more easily when you need it.

Who was your favorite character and why?

This is a non-fiction book. So my favorite character would either be Eric Haris (famous for being one of the Columbine school shooters) or the FDA (originally known as the Division of Chemistry). Eric Haris is not the loser/psycho that the media painted him. He was just short of becoming an Eagle Scout and he was fluent in multiple foreign languages. When the families of the Columbine victims sued the pharmaceutical company, Eric's family joined them. The community who knew this boy did not believe he could have committed the crime without the influence of pharmaceutical drugs. Even though the case was dismissed, the judge sealed the court records for 20 years--an unprecedented move. This boy is a tragic figure.

The FDA plays the role of the villain in this book. It does a great job of it having never once approved a cure for anything in its entire existence.

Have you listened to any of Philip D. Moore’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but he did a wonderful job narrating this. The sound quality was excellent and he did a good job making it interesting.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I reacted in shock to much of the information in this book. Finding out the shaken baby syndrome mimics brain swelling caused by vaccines is alarming. Finding out that the medical records of the Virginia Tech shooter disappears is distressing. Hearing that cholesterol is actually a material you body needs in order to fix your damaged blood vessels made me irritated with my doctor. Discovering that LSD was historically used in psychiatry and that heroine was the best selling medication of all time is actually pretty hilarious. This is a great book that I highly recommend.

Any additional comments?

Appropriate for family listening. Very informative. I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

Informative & Well Organized

If you want to cure your disease(s) the easy and inexpensive way, I recommend buying this book. I have applied many of Thomas and Sarah's recommendations for my own health issues, and I am better for it. The narrator, Philip D. Moore, is clear and articulate. The actual book is informative and well written. The writers of Defy Your Doctor and Be Healed, are proof there are truly good and honest people still in this world.

Themed to be unbiased and science based...

A rollercoaster ride of both science and biased/anti establishment ranting.
Many hypocritical points that caused much frustration.
I found that overall the author's tainted most of thier credible points with their biases and unscientific extrapolating.

This is a very good book. It is extremely informative and there are many things in it that made sense to me. Everyone will find things in here they can relate to, but expect to get angry and disgusted several times. It is truly scary! I have already begun making different choices and will continue to do so, thanks to this book. I have already passed on some of this information. I definitely encourage everyone to read this book. It really is a matter of life and death.

interesting.

Very thought provoking. Some bits were I thought Batshit crazy but about 80% was highly engaging. I think if you come into this with an open mind you will get a lot out of it . I'm keen on healthy living and learnt much. I'm going to go through it again as there are some real gems. So I'd strongly recommend it, but have some happy things to intersperse with it and be prepared to wade through the crazy bits.

Great Information but you must think for yourself!

I have read the book and now to hear it makes me remember it better. And remembering to take charge of my own health is job #1. Doctors are good for emergencies but mostly they are just lining their pockets and don't want to (or can't) cure their patients. This book helps me work out what's best for me and my health.

PLEASE DO NOT consult your doctor first

What did you like best about this story?

As you will learn from this book, following your medical doctor's advice (which often includes medications) can lead to ever increasing side effects and complications without ever addressing the true cause behind your health problems. This book is a great resource for a varied range of topics and I would recommend to anyone.

If you are looking to heal yourself or just stay healthy, this is a great place to start. You don't have to take their word for it, do your own research in addition to this book! You will quickly discover that despite the fact that our society puts absolute trust in a doctor's opinion, it doesn't take much research to become more educated on preventing and healing disease through nutrition and the use of safe, natural, and effective remedies than your average MD.

Thank you to Thomas and Sarah for creating this great resource! I don't doubt that the work they have done has saved MANY lives.
